Vote for your favorite titles here. It seems we need more, but I am of the opinion that they shouldn't be too complimentary since it would drive people to post senseless drivel (not that anyone does that of course) simply to hit the mark...

Hee, hee. Like you imply, people do that now. If you have levels, people will try to get to the next one. Not everyone, but some. I know that I do. It doesn't particularly matter what you call it.

If you want to remove that issue, get rid of titles and don't show post count. After all, post count doesn't signify knowledge or qualification.

While we're at it, rep can also be misleading depending on how it is gained. In forums, you can (and do) get a reciprocal situation where it's like "scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours." I like the "Thanks" concept. While not immune from such issues, at least thanked posts can be viewed by anyone.

After 100-150 (more) posts you take a tougher audio quiz and move up to Jedi Knight. After 150-200 more posts you have the option to take a harder quiz to move up to Audioholic Master. Mods and Admin would be Members of the Audioholic Counsel.


Current members could simply take the toughest quiz to show their rank.

The issue is that they would still be learning something in the process. Even if they "cheat" by looking up the answer, they still will find out the true answer.

There could be three tests for each level, each one chosen at random for each person. They could be problem solving type questions where it is difficult to just go out and find an answer. A "Use you aquired knowledge" type test.

In any case, it may be too nerdy/geeky. But, one would have to admit that the majority of the population here is geeky/nerdy to some degree, some more than others.

Almost every member worth mentioning is above 200 posts. You need to look at the BIG picture.

I'm still for choosing your own title. Just have words like "god" and "jesus" banned, so you can't use them.

For some odd reason Sheep, I get the feeling that you do not like the moniker "Couch Potato." You should have thought about that before making so many posts!!! : How do you feel about "Supreme Commander?"

As for me, I like the term "Samurai", so I will be taking my sweet time keeping my post count low so as to keep that oh so appropriate title of myself.

Maybe the mods could give each member above X posts a customized one of the mods choosing. That would sure be interesting although I am sure some members wouldn't be too happy about that .

Also, if you want members to choose their own tag, perhaps it could be allowed after receiving a certain amount of rep if you have a certain post count (not sure if it is possible). With the thank you system it is far easier to get certain rep. Just a thought.

I have never been a huge fan of rep/association/moniker based upon post count. Others like myself usually only post when we can help out a fellow member, add some insight, ect. (Steam Vent excluded). As noted earlier, I have been a member since late '03 and my post count is well below some people who have not even been members for a year.

Honestly, none of it bothers me no matter the decision made. I will still keep going on as usual.
