Maybe you should take a hint, people don't want to listen to Primus.
Wow, truly ingenious post. You certainly added a lot to the discussion. Maybe not everyone has the same musical interests as you?

Zhumbo, that was a pretty sweet drum solo, thanks.

I like the YouTube comment that calls the drummer "Neil Peart's younger brother on Acid". Indeed, Primus could be called "Rush's younger brothers on Acid".

Zhimbo, not zumbo.

Ahh, the Wynonah's Big Brown Beaver from Letterman, I remember seeing that when it was on. One of my fav. Primus songs. But, seriously, what's up with the Penguin Costumes? :D

Thank you, I thought it was quite brilliant. Almost as brilliant as complaining that no one is reading your thread. Not everyone likes the same music.. get over it. I know I sure have. Also, grow a backbone. There is going to be people out there that disagree with you, and take it very personally. I find myself defending my musical tastes daily, simply because they're not the market norm. Crying on the internet giving negative chicklets isn't going to get you anywhere, especially when you're dealing with ME.

Who is complaining that no one is reading anyone's threads?

I don't have a problem with you not liking Primus, or disagreeing, I just don't understand what you added to this thread, other than to voice your dislike of the band, and say how "people don't want to listen to Primus", and the OP shouldn't bother making the thread.

And I wasn't crying or whining, I just don't see the point in coming into a thread about a band you don't like just to say negative nonsense. Either way, sorry about the chicklet thing, that was kinda childish, you're right.

I have all the right in the world to post in a thread. You can post in some of my threads and bash me, I won't mind :) My car just blew up, go make fun of it.

Remember, if you're going to give someone a chicklet, you obviously care about the chicklet system. Don't give negative to people with a high post count.. they do the most damage.

I guess I should add something..

I was sent a few Primus songs ... I didn't really like the bass or vocals.. been some time since I heard them. All I remember is the bass not sounding like a bass should, and the vocals irritating me.

Hell Sheep, Claypool irritates me just by looking at him, he reminds me of Latka and Gomer Pyle mixed together, and his voice makes me cringe, like brushing my teeth with 60 grit sandpaper.

Like the way he looks or not he is definately one of the best (if not the best) slap bass players ever.

The Awakening Bass Solo

By the way, which Rock stars look good to you guys? They all look like degenerates to me! :D Artists, what can you say?

Bootsy was inventive and quick, I have to give him that, but talk about a bass that doesn't sound like it should! :). Everything I've seen of him live seemed really, really sloppy, possibly all the drugs?

Funny thing is neither of them are my favorite bass players. I'm a huge fan of Victor Wooten from Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, soooo smooth, and fretless, oh baby!

For true bass playing, Jaco, one of my faves, overall Chuck Rainey, he's melodic, articulate and has a unique style.

BTW I love fretless bass.

In this case, it's about the talent. Every one of them, not just Les. If you took the time to pay attention to what is going on in the music, you may get it.

As far as the singing, and the lyrics, it's entertainment. As I said, some get it, some don't. You have a young, undeveloped mind. It may take a lifetime for someone such as yourself to grasp this concept.

I believe you have made your point.

On a second note, this thread is about a dvd. It's purpose is to inform others of the quality of the dvd. If you havn't viewed the entire dvd as a whole , you have no right to comment on it.

1) Performance: Unbelievable.
2) Sound Quality: Superb.
3) Value for the $: Worth triple it's price.

The link to the drum solo I posted in this thread was from this dvd. The other links are not.

I was actually referring to Stratman's comment on Les Claypool's looks. I never said it actually mattered.

You're absolutely right, the only ones who care about the looks are the Pop Star, MTV, VH1 type "musicians" that are more interested in how they look in their video and on "Cribs" than how their music, if it's actually their music, sounds.

I own this DVD also, and agree with your points above Zumbo (See, I got it right this time), it's a must have for an Primus fan, and even for someone only interested in trying something different.
