Where are you parents? Maybe if you make a trip here you can fix my streaming issue.

Thats it, next time I am visiting my parents I am coming over and stealing your speakers :D! I didn't know you lived right next to them. I guess Ill have some badass digms soon .

My parents live in allen, tx. I was there about a month ago. I don't go too often (800 mile drive), the next time I will visit will most likely be December. If we can't get the streaming issue fixed soon, which I doubt. I will figure something else out probably an external HD.

Cool; feel free to drop by when you are in Texas. You can steal whatever you want from me; it's all insured for more than it;s worth!

yeah, we get some crazy storms down here in houston. i'll probably take a look at a few but didn't want to go crazy and spend a lot of money on them. thanks.
Check out ecost.com I got my belkin there for less than half of MSRP new (it is silver though :(). Another great brand is APC. The most important part is insuring that they are UL approved otherwise they are a waste of money.

Go ahead and order that Emotiva with 7 power modules then please :D. Next time I am around you'll probably be getting a PM.

But I live in Fort Worth.

My dealer has been in business for 65 years. They are pretty hi-end but dont mind dealing with scumbags like me:confused:
hey, sorry about that. for some reason, i thought you had said san antonio. i'm planning on heading up to dallas soon. maybe i'll take you up on that offer if i don't have anything by then. thanks.

somebody said it was a big home theater store out in san antonio.
Inpressive manufacturer list. I would check into B&W 600 series while you are there. You should be able to build a tower system with them, and a HSU sub, for around 3k. I wouldn't listen to the 800 series though. That will make you not want the 600's.:(

Just for kicks, I called my dealer and told him I may want to trade in my 40's for the 100's. he wanted me to pay 1500 bucks for the difference and then he tried to sale me 4k worth of amps!

I wouldn't mind taking the 100's...I might need to rent a truck...

I am sticking with the 40's. If he had of told me 1k; I would have traded but I have to draw the line somewhere.

i went to the home theater store and checkout a few speakers. the first set of speakers i listened to was the definitive technology mythos 4 floorstanding tower loadspeakers. they sounded pretty good. then i listened to the paradigm millenia 200 series. not sure what receivers where on them but the millenia sounded pretty good. i'm still checking out other speakers. more to come...

What's the name of this store? Sounds like they have some pretty good stuff. Did they have the Mythos ST or the Mythos One? Those Mythos sure look very sleek and modern. Did you bring your own CD to listen to?

the place was called All Star Audio / Video in houston. they recently moved to a new place and didn't have all the inventory in. i think they had the mythos one but wasn't too sure. they have the mythos connect to an onkyo intergra series receiver. they played the demo movie cd. i was only going to watch movies so that worked for me.

I think a lot of speakers will sound pretty good when it comes to movies, especially when you have a good subwoofer. So to me the real test is 2-channel stereo music---even though your main focus is movies. I think this is where you will be able to hear a bigger difference. I think if the speakers sound great with 2-ch stereo music, it will usually sound great with movies. I mean if you audition 10 speakers with the same price, and they all sound pretty good with movies, how would you pick the speakers?

I have to agree with this one.
