fyi, the room size is 22x14. :D
Alright. Alright. First of all, that's a decent room size for a home theater. Second, although movies is the number one thing for you right now, you never know what you will like in the future--especially if you are lucky enough to have experience truly great speakers:)
So this is my recommendation for you:
Speakers ($2,820 from digitalcraze includes S/H):
Left & Right Main--Definitive Technology BP7002 (has built in 12" Powered 300-watt subwoofer)
Center--Def Tech CLR2500 (has built-in 8" Powered 150-watt subwoofer)
Surround Left & Right--Def Tech StudioMonitor 350 (built-in 10" Passive subwoofer)

Receiver: Onkyo SR805 for $800 (J&R Music World Free S/H)

Total = $3,620:D

After you listen to these speakers, you may just become a music fan.

Have you ever pushed a speaker other than DT? Holy cow; next thing you will be recommending is some fish-net cables...

Might 1 suspect that you are biased toward DefTech's?

Dave
Absolutely not. I am 100% objective. I can also hear differences in wires and cables, especially if they are fish-net:eek:
All from a different thread but I have noticed the same thing as you greg ;). Guess it can't be so bad many people here do suggest speakers from av123 constantly or woofers from hsu or svs.

This fishnet cables are suspect though!

Well, I was going to recommend that, but it would have pushed the budget a little too far:D

My first speaker system was NHT SuperZero (5) + SW2P Subwoofer.
I've also bought Bose for my family room--they're okay for karaoke because I can always blame the speakers:)

I've listened to other speakers at Bose, Best Buy, Circuit City, and Ultimate Electronics, but it's definitely not the same as listening at HOME.

I have a power conditioner and only got it because of the price. Even though there are claims of better sound/video I and many people here have not experienced this because its kind of rubbish unless you have really crappy circuits. That said for the price (about 150) I would get the unit all over again just because I know during a storm my gear is protected and it is far easier having all the power cords going to one place. If you do get one make sure it has proper UL certification.

I just realized you live in Texas. You may want to drive over to Fort Worth and use my dealer. I can probably get you some deals.
