Axiom Epicenter EP500 or SVS?

age is valid in the sense that there is no way he has been able to test as many subs as craigsub. i never said i had more cedibility, i just claimed that sheep has less credibility that craigsub.

when i said no offense i meant it, i didnt mean it in an attacking way, i meant it in a way that expressed my opinion. being 18 means you dont have the money to test out every sub on your own. But, I'll admit sheep probably knows a lot more than i do. H does spend a lot more time on here than i do

if all your knowledge comes from this site, youd absolutely love axiom, rbh, svs, hsu, and avs123. Dont you find it weird that no other forum concentrates on those companies as much as here. Also, dont you find it weird that those companies have advertisements on this forum? Axiom reviews from 2006 are still featured on the home page. Im not saying they are bad companies, or that the reviews are false in any way, i just think they have a strategy.
First off, I'm 20. Secondly, I'm not a kid. And lastly, if you actually READ the links I posted, you'd know why I have no faith in craig. I used to like his reviews and shoot outs, but once Ilkka pointed out a few things, it all became clear.

If you look at my system thread, you'll see that I run all Energy Speakers with a Velodyne sub. "But but, you come to this site, so you must use axiom products! Waaaaaaa!"

When it really comes down to the basics, you're the one with the agenda, pushing Craigsubs name. Just one of the foollowers.

You guys never cease to to amaze me with arguments over subs and then all the sudden you're on someone's butt...lol...

I believe what we are trying to say is- all the subs listed are really good so get one of them and be happy!

So, what's the overall decision here about the two subs? I'm looking at the same dilema and find myself on the fence. I like what I read about the EP500, but the boys with the SVSs are pretty convincing as well.

age is valid in the sense that there is no way he has been able to test as many subs as craigsub. i never said i had more cedibility, i just claimed that sheep has less credibility that craigsub. i like sheep i just think he tends to steer people in a direction when hes never even heard the speaker for himself. That is actually fine to do.. but when you discredit a person that really has listened to the speaker it doesnt seem right. especially for someone like craigsub who just generally wants to help.
Anand Shimpi founded Anandtech when he was 16, and it's now one of the most successful computer hobbyist sites. Age doesn't matter *at all* when testing anything, sound testing methodology does. The fact that someone may have the money to test subs and good intentions doesn't make them any more credible than if they didn't, if their results are repeatable or their methods aren't sound. Unfortunately, money isn't a substitute for brains. Testers also need to be prepared to defend their results and methods without getting snippy, as you'll be defending results a LOT. That's just the way it is in science. And if you're going to post results from testing equipment, you should know how to use that equipment ;)

So, what's the overall decision here about the two subs? I'm looking at the same dilema and find myself on the fence. I like what I read about the EP500, but the boys with the SVSs are pretty convincing as well.
It's a honda/toyota argument. People will argue for one until they're blue in the face because they believe one is "better" than the other. Each sub has it's strengths, in the end, it's a coin toss or personal preference. You can't go wrong with either one.

If it was me; I would go with a Servo-15. If it was not me; I would go with the SVS.

Do you have anything to compare the Servo against?

I had the SVS PB12 Plus2 in my house along with my Servo if that counts. I also had the Klipsh sub 12 but I dont really want to count that one.

starting to piece together an HT setup with my dad and we're pretty set on the Axiom Epic 60 500 6.1 package

My question is, would we be better off swapping out the Axiom Epicenter EP500 included in the package for a SVS PB12 Plus (maybe a Plus/2)
I am surprised no one said try to audition them.

The EP 500 will be easy since Axiom forums have a list of owners available for demos. The SVS will be tougher, but try this site for starters, should not be too difficult.
