I love the Borla cat-back on my Z, I need to get a sound clip posted. Deep, agressive tone all the way up to 7500 rpms.:D

Yeah, I'm now a Borla fanboy. I have no problem admitting it. They are not really well known for their V-8 muscle car mufflers, unless you count late model Mustangs and Vettes. I was just tired of EVERYBODY going with FM around here, plus I don't particularly like a chambered exhuast note, especially on Chevy's.

American muscle. Can't beat it. Period.
Really? This is a 4 cylinder sedan.

Looks like it won... doesn't support your theory.

Oh, another one...

Warning, second video has swearing, NSFWORH.

Power to weight ratio is a wonderful thing no matter what you drive.
Yep, low inertia equals fun... which is why I would love to take a spin in a Ariel Atom or a Lotus Elise.

Take those rice burning engines and put them in a 4000 lb led sled and see what they do.
Why? The "rice burning" engine will perform better in a ~2,000lb body. ;)

Ariel Atom with a SC B16B is my dream car. 0-60 in 2.9 seconds.

Hopped up ricer with rev limiter and probably NOS running against aforementioned '80s model not-so-muscle car Olds with probably a six-banger or 305 tops. Didn't watch the second; thanks for the language warning!;)

Absolutely no doubt!;) I get ragged all the time by a friend of mine that outruns me in his '71 Dodge Demon. Of course, my car has 150 lbs of Dynomat in it, a spare tire, A/C, P/S, a sound system and all the seats. His has none of the above:p Well, it does have one seat. I think it weighs about 2800 lbs. Mine is 3980. Plus he runs slicks and has tuned his suspension for only straight line driving. Fun, no doubt, but I like the curves, also;)

Uh no, it's the stock4 cylinder turbo with maybe some bolt ons or a clutch. It comes with 425BHP stock.

The second video is a 650Hp supra Vs a SVT mustang.

Uh, no yourself. Listen to it again. Here it "sputtering" at the line? It's definately got a limiter on it so he can keep the gas to the floor off the line.

What, launch control? That Monte Carlo was making just as much noise. Launch Control and Nos are not the same thing.

Hey Mr. D,

You mean Lou Santiago and the other guy was Jared Zimmerman. Lou is one of the most knowledgeable fabricators around he specializes in spec racers and is considered a top rollcage and racing suspension fabricator, Jared was working in Rad Rides by Trey (or Troy) who specialize in super big bucks custom rods, Jared is also considered one of the top metal guys in Chicago, I don't know whats happened to him after he left the show. Jokes aside, these guys, believe it or not, are at the top of the muscle car food chain.

Regards,

S.
Wow. Really? Well from watching the show I would have had no idea that these guys had such an automotive pedigree. They come off as complete retards on the show. Maybe it's just the producers telling them to "ham it up" for the kids. Lame.

Don't go turning my thread into a flame war Sheep.

Everyone has their opinions. I've had Honda's in the past, but I fell in love with the 5.0 back in 86 when my mom bought one and I've loved Mustangs ever since.

You can pull up TONS of examples of American cars whoopin up on rice rockets and vice versa. I personally can't stand the stupid "Rice Boy" subculture that seems to go along with tricked out Japanese cars. That said, I have seen many Japanese cars that were truly bad-***. I remember seeing a Honda Civic keep up with a Viper in a rolling start freeway race. But American cars are my preference.

And saying that American cars can't handle is a crock. My 95 GT with subframes, tubular K-member and control arms, yada, yada, yada, will smoke most cars on the road on the twisties. And the new Mustang is even better. Add a Griggs suspension to a new Mustang and you've got a SERIOUS corner carver!

It's just a question of what you're into.

My Mitsubishi minibus can whoop your Mustang a$$....:D

Just kidding.... I have respect on both Jap and American cars. Each to their own advantages.

Somehow, i am drawn more to Hondas. Chicks dig Civics so they say.....

Yeah, you can blame that on the producers. Jared worked on Joe Rogan's award winning custom Barracuda, perhaps one of the most beautiful customized Cudas in the country, easily 150,000+ bucks.

Well said, my good man! Sorry for hijacking your post. I had a '90 GT for a couple of years. While nowhere near the powerhouse my Monte is, I really enjoyed driving it. It was loads of fun. 5.0, 5-speed, black. Nice car! Of course, they aren't street leagl (except in commercials..."that thing got a Hemi?") but try to top the top fuel dragsters. 7000+ hp, well under 5 secs in the quarter and up to what, 340mph? With a V-8, of course.:D:D:D Try to top that, Saki sippers.:p Crikey, there I go again. I'm outta' here.

I don't doubt that your mustang car turn corners, but it couldn't from the factory.

Seriously, watch The Type R Legend video. If you want anyone to consider your arguments, you need to study BOTH sides.

And Dukester, It's Sake.

They try to act all "ghette" and crack tons of stupid jokes. The show is well nigh unwatchable. Get these idiots off of television!
The studio simply has trouble marketing to anyone younger than the Boomers.
FWIW, I work like two miles from the BMW Performance test track in SC. I told one of the guys there that I would put my Monte up against his 7 series cars. He looked at me like I was crazy.
A modified Chevy vs. a 7 series? WTF, thats like racing a motorcycle and a lawnmower. Your Monte holding its own against a 3M on a roadcourse and I'll be impressed.

PS: American cars are cool in highschool, Japanese cars are cool in college. But eventually its time to grow-up, move out, and buy a German car.
