Quote the whole thing and delete out what you don't want..[QUOTE.but it still has to have the close quote:.[/QUOTE
after it.[/QUOTE] Thanks so much for your patience guys, reread and think I finally got it.

Hit the quote button.

Copy the quote tag at the end of the whole quote. Move it to the end of the sentence you want to reply to. If it's not the first sentence, copy the quote tag at the beginning of the quote, and move it to the front of the sentence. If none of the rest concerns you, delete it. If it does, then repeat the procedure above.

See if you can quote this sentence only. All you have to do is hit quote, copy the quote tag at the beginning, and paste it at the beginning of the sentence. Copy the quote tag at the end, and paste it at the end of the sentence. Delete the rest.

I never thought quoting someone would be found so hard...

Replace { with [ and } with ]. Also, you can always hit preview post to see how it will come out instead of reposting the same attempt many times.

You're kidding, right? I mean, I've got a healthy sense of humor, but...

Look. You've been given at least five different means of quoting. There are at least five others. D-troit's "first post" has evolved into a rather lengthy thread...over how to quote. I'm almost sorry that I'm the one one that brought it up in the first place. ;)

My suggestion: Post another ten five samples, trying each of the five suggestions listed. Practice makes perfect. I'd just like to see you get out of this loop and into something productive. Otherwise we may think you're a plant.

If my advice didn't make sense I suggest you read this:http://werbach.com/barebones/barebones.html

It is a link to an HTML guide. Glossing over it will give you an idea of how the simple languages like html or whatever this board uses work (they are both similar in regards to posting).

The first [quote} tells it to start the quote command. =username;post# This is there to refer back to the original post and show who made it. After that you have the typed text [b} makes it bold. At the end of ever command you will see the same thing with a / infront of it this means end so [/b} means end bold. [/quote} means end quote.

There is a shortened version of what you are looking for. Hopefully if you understand what the innerworkings are you will be able to edit quotes more easily.

If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.
