A good tt or arm wouldn't mind, wouldn't even notice. Might not want to use your best cartridge.
A secondary headshell/cart is a little problematic, unless you get them to weigh the exact same. I did that once with my Pioneer DD tt about 45 years ago. I super glued tiny plastic washers to the top of one and then they weighed the exact same.

I would not bother. There is zero pleasure in playing discs in poor condition I would imagine, and it just invites trouble. I don't have any that fit that description.

I said Pioneer. I meant Technics.
But no, I'm not doing that. Just saying they should weigh the same if you did. The reason I did that was because friends brought records over back then and I wanted a cart exclusively for my albums. See, there was a good reason. ha.

Weight isn't the only dimension that is relevant when swapping cartridges.....and most good arms come with a fairly quick way to adjust for weight. Height, not so much.

True. Most are faster than mine to re-adjust.
