I have bought Yamaha R-N800a and trying to access the advanced menu following the steps provided in the manual (attached) but it doesn't work and always the device open into the normal menu.
Do anyone can advice?

Try a soft reset before trying to access the advanced setup menu again? Soft reset is unplugging from power for a bit, a reboot of sorts.

How to do hard reset?
Not sure a hard reset is possible. Can't find any information it can be reset. I can't find it in the manual. I can only find information on he to reset RX-V or HTR receivers. You will have to call Yamaha. You might have to send it in for service.

I hope someone from Yamaha check why are the steps stated in the manual didn't work.
I think it's a firmware problem.

What is the problem you are trying to reset the unit for? A failure can also prevent a reset, if it is a hardware failure and not a software failure.

to change the language or change the speaker impedance I have to access the advanced menu, I really wonder why its not working through the steps stated in their manual.
The advanced menu is important to be accessible.

Connect it to your router with an ethernet cable- DO NOT use WiFi for any updates or anything else, IMO. Wired works, WiFi MIGHT work.

Look for a button called 'Initialize' in Advanced Settings.

Once it has finished, turn it on and go into the Network area to find its IP address. Once you have found that, use a computer or tablet to open a browser window and type the IP address followed by /setup

Using a computer is far better than using an app or the remote with the menu on the display.

The problem is that I can't access the advanced menu to select the initialize step.
IP address followed by /setup doesn't work like the AVRs, also accessing the setting through the web is not stated in their manual.

Can you find the IP address? Enter it in the search bar and you should see a screen that has buttons for setup at the bottom.

Did you add the MusicCast app to your phone?

Have you contacted Yamaha about this?

The problem is that this is a bare bones audio receiver, with only optical and RCA digital connections plus an internet port for audio streaming.

I highly doubt that this unit has sophisticated enough software for resets etc.

Note that there are a couple of service ports, which I suspect are only accessible by an authorized service center. There is no mention in the manual which is crammed with folderal and making this unit out to be more sophisticated than it is. It does not need 153 pages to explain this bare bones unit.

Seems like it will need to go to a service center if the cost is realistic, if not the recycling center.

This is just the sort of unit to run a mile from. For what this unit has to offer a nice vintage unit and a streamer would be far better.

A nice vintage Quad preamp and power amp, will give years of service and likely continue to do it for another fifty years at least.

when I entered the IP address without setup it open the normal menu not the advanced menu.

I have contacted Yamaha through contact us on their website but still no reply.

I made System Reboot from the web settings - The receiver rebooted and opened normally - Then I switched it off and Switched it ON while holding down the return key and it works and opened and Advanced menu.
Thank you all

This is an integrated amp with MusicCast for streaming, but it can receive AM/FM, too. Hardly bare-bones- did you even look at the manual and specs?

With a vintage piece, there's the problem of repairs and parts availability or the possibility that it wasn't treated well by more than one previous owner. Warranties are a good thing, too.
