Yet, that is how the White House has chosen to respond to a number of questions it does not like in recent weeks.
On Friday, Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, answered: “Your mom did,” in response to a HuffPost reporter asking who had suggested the choice of Budapest as a venue for talks,
which have now been cancelled, between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
SV Dáte had pointed out that the
choice of the Hungarian capital could offend Ukrainians, given the city hosted Russia in 1994 when it promised not to invade Ukraine if it relinquished its nuclear weapons.
Shortly after Ms Leavitt’s response, Stephen Cheung, the White House communications director, weighed in with another “your mom” response for good measure.<<<
