The group takes its name from the song Proud Of Your Boy, which featured in the musical version of Disney’s movie Aladdin.

Their members have to publicly declare they are a Proud Boy and a Trump supporter, with the group’s ideas including ‘glorify the entrepreneur’, ‘close the border’, ‘end welfare’, and ‘give everyone a gun’ as well as redefining traditional gender roles (or as they put it ‘venerate the housewife’).<<<

The brown shirts (Germany) and Black shirts (Italy) were given free reign in this manner...

The courts need to rein them in - and if they don't then we have numerous historical precedents of what will happen in the USA. (History Rhymes rather than repeating.... but the similarities are striking)

If the underlying primary principle is "L'etat c'est moi" (Louis XIV) - I am the state / I am the law (and subscript in todays world "I declare what reality is").

Then there is nothing hypocritical about it... the law can vary from moment to moment according to the whim of the autocrat.

Similarly "truth" and "reality" are whatever the autocrat says they are.... (as per Popes and "declaring reality")

Much like the catholic church in eras gone by, if your statements on "reality" don't align with the declared reality, you can at a minimum be cancelled, and more extreme punishments aren't out of the question. Hence a myriad of experts in the health field at the CDC, are out of work now, alongside many climate scientists, etc...

It isn't hypocritical - it is merely based on reality, and the law, being whatever the autocrat says they are.

In the US system, this can be controlled by either congress or the courts... if neither do that, or they surrender their power to the autocrat, then we have "l'etat c'est moi".
