Alien: Earth

Watched the first two episodes. It looks to slot into the timeframe right around the original movie, but before Aliens. It adds new elements that were not in the films, yet they've worked it in fairly well. It is not fully expanded yet, so not sure how all of it fits in, but so far I feel the show is good. They've added elements beyond just the Alien and in one review that I saw, it said "NEW nightmare fuel for you to think about when you are alone at home." Ridley Scott is the executive producer and he said he enjoyed what they've done with it.

I have Tivo programmed for this show and waiting when wife is away. She is not interested in the Alien shows.

My question is, are these kids supposed to be geniuses? Because they talk and act like a bunch of idiots or at most no smarter than a regular 4 year old child. I’ve seen plenty of 5-10 year old kids who act and talk a lot smarter.

Maybe this is an adverse effect?

They are obnoxious and make an overrated show that moves at a snail’s pace even harder to watch.

Speaking of obnoxious, is anybody going to do anything about all of the f#%kin’ ads bombarding the forum?

Did you watch it? They literally ARE those ~9-10 yr olds. That is a little weird, but I am guessing they will rapidly develop. I think they sort of took that idea from Romulus, how the Andy synth was child like as well. I thought the Zuckerberg company guy is the most disturbing thing lol.

OK the weirdest thing I noticed, and they intentionally showed it multiple times, the lack of acid. This show may explain where that comes from.

I think it is pretty decent, we'll see where it goes.

Normal 9-10 YR old kids (I know of) don't act that dumb. And these are 9-10 geniuses, not just regular kids.

Remember the movie "Searching for Bobby Fisher"? He was like 5-6 YR. I don't remember him acting this dumb.

So maybe they need the whole season to develop, but it's just annoying seeing so-called 9-10 YR geniuses acting like a bunch of idiots.

And Romulus Andy did act childish, but not to this level. Plus, he was glitchy - there was clearly some kind of malfunction going on with him.

Alien Acid - There was definitely Alien acid that melt a hole in the floor and ceiling when Wendy was fighting it.

Definitely pisses me off. I was hoping to see some real genius kids.

And that "genius" trillionaire is so so smarter than everyone else that he was sticking his face at the alien egg he knew absolutely nothing about! That was genius level smart? I mean he acted as smart as all those idiots in the Alien movies sticking their faces into the alien eggs they absolutely knew nothing about.

I'm the smartest person alive. Oh, here are some alien eggs. There is no chance in hell they could possibly harm me. I'll just stick my face into one.

I haven't watched the latest episode, watching it tonight now that she's home. So did they call them geniuses? All I got was they were terminal kids that the parents agreed to allow them to try this with.

I think in the latest episode, he did call them "special" and "genius".

I am sure there are millions of regular dumb terminal kids who's parents would love a second chance of life.

Also, it makes no sense to send a bunch of stupid kids for search and rescue mission. They have no training and they definitely don't have the intelligence for search and rescue.

Anyway, I am not surprise the ratings on this show is dropping. I think it was "8.8" on IMDb, today it is 7.7. If they keep up with this, I bet the ratings will drop a lot lower because it's annoying.

Many of the shows I've watched and currently watching are 8.0 and above.

Seeing the Alien is cool, though. So I bet most people tune in mainly to see the Alien.
