Humour, comedy and satire is one of the ways to resist an authoritarian regime, though even that is risky for the satirists. Many gets quite adept at "reading between the lines" as well. Not the "MAGA types"-believers, of course, as those are the ones perpetrating atrocities.
The satire and so forth can be quite subtle in those regimes as well, as to avoid repercussions.
A fairly "recent" example I googled is published in 2013 about arresting a barrel in Serbia during the Slobodan Milosevic dictatorship, though, of course, the event itself was far earlier as he died in 2006 while on trial for war crimes in Hague.
