They will first need to do the sums....Manufacture will have to return back to Tovil in Kent. Their high end speakers are made there, so that will have to put it all back in Tovil now.
TVs from China will be totally out of reach for most people and TVs made in other Asian countries may be as well. I fear there may be lots of break ins to steal electronics and TVs especially. I am already thinking of beefing up our security, which is high already.
will the benefit of US market offset the reduction in other markets caused by the increased cost of manufacturing, then reflected in international pricing for those models.
It will come down to what proportion of their products go to the USA vs the rest of the world!
And yes the Tariffs on USA imports, may well result in increases in cost of goods for people in other countries, as manufacturers move to locations that are less economical but also have lower tariffs... the tariffs will therefore impose economic inefficiencies on the world at large - but only to the degree that manufacturers are exposed to the USA market.
