Trump wants a cabinet full of people who are terrified of defying him. If you judge Trump as taking his lessons directly from the "Dictator Wanna Be Handbook", his choice of Matt Gaetz as Attorney General made perfect sense.
  1. Choose your direct lieutenants from political hacks who are highly unqualified for the jobs. They will always remain loyal yes men to Trump because they owe their well paid jobs to him.

  2. In Gaetz's case, he had 2 reasons to always do whatever Trump wanted. In addition to his lack of any qualifications, he had police investigations hot on his trail.
The same can be said of RFK, Jr for HHS Secretary, Pete Hegseth for DOD Secretary, Dr. Oz, and a host of other flunkies.
While Gaetz is a slimy greaseball, this guy is a complete nutter.
Trump’s Pentagon pick Hegseth wrote of US military taking sides in ‘civil war’ | Trump administration | The Guardian

In one of his five published books he wrote that in the event of a Democratic election victory in the US there would be a “national divorce” in which “The military and police … will be forced to make a choice” and “Yes, there will be some form of civil war.”
John Whitehouse, news director at Media Matters for America (MMFA) which tracked Hegseth’s Fox career, said that Hegseth has “always given off a proto-fascist vibe”, and that “the thing that appealed to him was going into Iraq as a crusader, and when that went wrong he started looking at America through the same lens”.
Addressing his conservative audience in a chapter of American Crusade entitled Make the Crusade Great Again, he writes: “Whether you like it or not, you are an ‘infidel’ – an unbeliever – according to the false religion of leftism.” He added: “You can submit now or later; or you can fight.”

Later in the book, he writes: “Build the wall. Raise tariffs. Learn English. Buy American. Fight back.”

Elsewhere in American Crusade, he writes: “The hour is late for America. Beyond political success, her fate relies on exorcising the leftist specter dominating education, religion, and culture – a 360-degree holy war for the righteous cause of human freedom.”
For someone who is all about "freedom", he isn't much of a fan of democracy. Oh, the irony...
Hegseth explicitly rejects democracy in American Crusade, characterizing it as a leftist demand: “For leftists, calls for ‘democracy’ represent a complete rejection of our system. Watch how often they use the word,” adding: “They hate America, so they hate the Constitution and want to quickly amass 51 percent of the votes to change it.”

There was a talk show and they were saying Dems are quiet and that is because they are going to sit back and watch the dumpster fire roll down the street lighting everything as it goes by. "You voted them in, careful what you ask for."

This administration doesn't have a "plan" so much as an agenda. An agenda that has much less to do with politics and serving the people and everything to do with serving themselves.

When you put a chimp in office, don't be surprised when he starts flinging turds.

..........does not have large bureaucracy experience.

I was looking up Dr Oz stuff and came across this. It's a recurring theme I have in some of Trump's picks. It helps to have gov't experience, how things work, what might happen with deep cuts to gov't, actual qualifications in a given field etc. Nah, nevermind.:p

An anti-vaxxer picked by Trump to lead CDC. What can go wrong when the next deadly pandemic strikes?

>>>President-elect Donald Trump has tapped former Florida Rep. Dave Weldon, a physician and vaccine safety skeptic, to lead the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.<<<

"Restoring public confidence" in our institutions is one I often here. Not *what specifically* needs to be restored. Isn't the bold below well past scrutiny?

>>>Weldon, who served in Congress for nearly two decades, has also raised concerns about the safety of the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine and Gardasil, the vaccine that girds against the papillomavirus virus, which can lead to cervical cancer.<<<

Per a TV screenshot. WSJ opinion by Elon and Vivek:

Requiring federal employees to come to the office five days a week would result in a wave of voluntary terminations that we welcome: If federal employees don't want to show up, American taxpayers shouldn't pay them for the Covid-era privilege of staying home.

What an odd claim. Must be stay-at-home moms or something.
