I got my two shots today. Applied online and had an opening about an hour later.
Barely felt the covid unless that was the flu shot. He did say it was the correct covid shot. The flu shot was much more noticeable this year versus last year what I had to ask what when. But hours afterwards still just fine, nothing sore yet.

Yep, this was the first year that the Flu shot really gave me a sore arm. Gone in 2 days and I'm chalking it up to the senior dose.

As far as I can tell, it's not entirely clear how many deaths attributed to the flu are actually due to contracting pneumonia as a result of the flu. Regardless, the pneumonia vaccine seems like a no-brainer to me.

I checked it up online and I took Prevenar 13 (from Pfizer) in 2020, but that should be PPSV 13 and not PCV13 as I wrote in my post. Or perhaps not.

The English docs for the Prevenar 13 says "pneumococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccine" which does contain the word conjugate while the Swedish one does not contain the word conjugate. Ugh.

In vaccines, the word "conjugate" usually describes how a vaccine gets made. Most vaccines start with smaller fragments of antigenic biomolecules (proteins or polysaccharides). Alone, they do not stimulate the immune system to respond. But if they're chemically conjugated to some larger biomolecule, such as CRM197 or other protein, much larger immunity responses occur. This comes from the observation that the first wave of immune system cells (dentritic cells & macrophages) are more attracted by large antigens than small ones. Remember that the resulting immunity is intended to be against bacteria or viruses – both are much larger than any small peptide fragment.

I assume that's the case for the PCVs and PPSVs. When I followed your two UK and EU links, a footnote did say:

The cells around the injection site take up enough of the mRNA to make phospholipid particles speckled with the Spike protein. No pathogenic virus is involved.

These mRNA viruses completely skip the older, slower, and laborious technology of identifying protein fragments from the virus and conjugating them onto a carrier protein.

Most of the various Covid-19 vaccines were the first mRNA vaccines to be used. They were made and tested for safety & efficacy in months – not years. As well as working well, they are revolutionary.

Although many people accomplished this, Anthony Fauci of the NIH deserves a lot of credit for steering a lot of federal money into this very large R&D effort. He understood, as early as the 1990s, that this could be a major revolution in vaccine production.

Maybe we need to ask @Swerd what he knows of this. I passed this on to #1 son as he didn't bother to get Covid shots. He indicated that there is no good scientific evidence that supports this.

Rogers MD, who I believe is now retired, was a board certified by an American Board of Family Practice, board certified by the American Board of Environmental Medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and a Fellow of the American College of Nutrition. She had been in solo private practice in environmental medicine for over 38 years in Syracuse, NY where she saw patients from all over the world. She lectured in Oxford, in Canada, in China and in several other countries where she had taught well over 100 physician courses, published over a dozen books including the landmark book "Detoxify or Die" ( Prestige Publishing), 20 scientific papers, textbook chapters, was environmental medicine editor for Internal Medicine World Report, received the American Academy of Environmental Medicine Rinkle Teaching Award for teaching excellence. She had a referenced web newsletter for 19 years, a non-patient consulting service, a lay and professional lecture service, and was a guest on over 100 radio shows a year and more.

For instance, you could get a telephone consultation with her even by being a non-patient. That was really outstanding for a specialist and family physician.

She was not afraid to condemn physicians who prescribed statins for elevated cholesterol, and stated in her book " The High Blood Pressure Hoax" that high blood pressure medications are down-right dangerous. The first book that she wrote is entitled "Is Your Cardiologist Killing You?".

I have half a dozen of her books and I learned a lot. From the info contained in her books, I have more knowledge on some topics than some doctors. As you know, physicians are controlled by pharmaceutical companies. Diseases are not caused by a lack of medication. Medications most of the time only mask symptoms but don't cure. The cure is in the food you eat, and if you can afford it, functional medicine is the right way of getting treated when necessary.

I never heard anything at all about monolaurin (glycerol monolaurate) as an anti-viral substance.

This paper was published in 1982! In virology and treating viral diseases, 42 years ago is the dark ages.

I didn't read that paper in detail, but I did see the words "In vitro" in the title. In vitro means literally in glass (test tubes or cell culture dishes). "In vivo" means in live animals. There's a very big difference. There are many substances that can easily destroy any lipid membrane covered virus in vitro. I assume from the paper's title, no in vivo tests were done.

That other paper published in 2021 in Scientific Reports sounds sort of reasonable, at first. After I read it, the data shows no direct evidence at all. At best, it only shows a weak correlation. I also think it has nothing useful to say about further studying monolaurin as a possible ant-viral drug candidate.
