Sound issues with HK AVR 210

Hi guys, picked up a used HK AVR 210 and trying to set it up, but running into sound issues. Hooked up the two front channels and a dvd player, but not getting any sound through any of the input sources.
I did notice that when I adjust the volume I will get sound only WHILE turning the volume knob, but cuts back out once I stop turning the knob.
I tried the processor reset, but behavior persists. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Try a hard reset and set it up again. What is the history of that unit? It sounds to me that it is likely terminal.

Is there a hard reset other than the Tone+FM button reset method?
Yea it’s gotta pretty iffy history. We got it from a family friend who got it new and used it for a few years. But after upgrading, the unit has been sitting for 10+ years.

Sounds like it might be a dirty volume pot, you might try an appropriate cleaner/solvent (like a De-Oxit product).

This is the instruction for a reset. You need to ignore Lovin today. That unit will have a digital volume control and not a potentiometer. It is a control that works in tandem with an IC chip and is nothing like to analog volume controls of old. It is worth three attempts of a hard reset. If that does not work it is the end of the road for that unit.

Wasnt sure if this unit had one or not, but sounds like such behavior...
