Thanks for the feedback that amp is on my soon to buy list!!!
Dan, I should also note, comparing the 2 channel experience power now to 2 channel when I ran my outlaw mono's to LCR, no discernible difference. The main difference is a 45 pound 8 channel unit, vs 144 pounds of 2200 monos, or 93 pound monolith 7x200, with a more effiencient class D topology. I wouldn't fault anyone for not upgrading if you already have amplification because it doesn't seem to make a difference audibly.

Yeah I'm not as you correctly pointed out doing it for any type of audible improvements

I'm interested for 3 reasons saving rack space
Less heat produced and less weight!

Agreed, and less power cords (not that the AVM70 helped in the cord category). Whenever I look behind my stand it reminds me of Wish You Would by Ludacris

"5 hot amps, speakers shake like jelly
so many wires in my trunk look like a bowl of spaghetti"

I thought it was funny back then when I read your post but now I know what you meant by that giant owner's thread.:D:D
And the one on the avs forum is just as gigantic as the threads on the 70/90 here. Almost too big you have to do a lot of digging to find what you want

Yep, been there. By the way, it may be pre-mature for me to say this at the moment but while I like the AVM70 a lot, I feel ARC Genesis (knowing Gene seems impressed with it) may be overrated. Great UI, imo DL is much better, but results based on REW, while effective, does not appear to be better than XT32 overall. Again it is pre-mature and only apply to my setup at best, definitely a case of ommv.

Seriously, I have no life.
It was from someone who has an in with an employee. He said if there were any problems that I could return to him. I also paid with PayPal so I can always open a case if need be.

right now I’m watching MNF, I have it set to all channel stereo. There’s no sound coming from LR, rear right or side left. I really don’t know if the set up process requires me to say what speakers there are. Like with my old 7012, in the speaker set up I had to select which speakers I have. I have not done any of that with the 70. Do you know if there are settings like that somewhere in the web software?
So, you think PayPal will help when you bought this through an employee? We'll have to see about that- they aren't always as helpful as we want.

While I don't game on it, I have tried the PS5/XB1X and have had none of the issues you described. The same thing can be said for 2 Channel.

As for PENG's comments about ARC Genesis, having used XT32, I would say better than XT32, though took me a lot of trial and error as I learned how to use it. Definitely not perfect.

The UI is definitely better. Just that for now, I still cannot achieve the performance I get with XT32 SubEQHT but that's just comparing graphs. In terms of audibility I doubt it makes much of a difference at all.

There is one thing I am disappointed with its otherwise fantastic UI, is that it does not seem to let me remeasure a position until the calibration session is complete. That sort of defeat the remeasure purpose to some extent.

If I am doing one for even just 5 positions, if the process got disturbed by some loud noise from the street or a low flying helicopter (it happened:D), during the 4th position measurement, it would be a pain to have to start from the beginning. I have no doubt Anthem can add that feature via FW update. Or it can actually do it just I don't know how?

Do you know of a way to provide such feedback to Anthem's ARCG development team? I would not want to just use the tech support channel.

Now, that is an annoyance. Same issue with Genelec GLM when calibrating, and have to redo all of it. At least I only have a pair of monitors and a subwoofer.

Overall what is your impressions with the AVM70? I had the AVM 60 so I'd love to hear your thoughts and user experience is it stable no firmware issues at this point?

I have only 11 speakers and 2 subs, so could have been worse if I use all 17 channels. It still takes a long time to start from the beginning.

Email Anthem about it so hopefully it is just something I missed. Will update if I get a respons from tech support.

Or may be Cos can confirm that it can or cannot be done.

Will do that in another week. Don't want to say the wrong things that may mislead others so I should spend more time to get to know this new toy first. For now, I can confirm that I have not come across any obvious bugs, just two suspected ones so far, but of minor nature.

You might have heard of this thing called “peer pressure”. :D

It seems like most people rave about Trinnov, Dirac or Anthem. So you gotta pick one of those 3.

You can get Audyssey in a cheap Denon AVR, so nobody cares about Audyssey. :D

I had the same issues as Peng with Subs. It took multiple attempts, and the only way to fix issues is to start from beginning.

Thank you, Anthem must know that their main competitor, that is, Denon/Marantz Audyssey/Dirac Live, NAD, Arcam, Monolith Dirac Live has that convenient feature, so I am optimistic that they would add that feature without much difficulty. Since it is just software, they should be able to do it. When D+M release the $20 app, that's when that feature became available. Anthem's ARCG is done in the PC, that should make it even easier to implement.

If and when they do that, I would like to see the flexibility to remeasure not just the last position during the session but also after the fact, that is, open an "ARCG file" and then select any position for remeasurement and only remeasure that one. That is one great positive of Dirac Live (PC version, not sure about the AVR/P version such as the Onkyo RZ50 can do such a thing), would need @flak3 to confirm that one).

Just for those interested, such as Danzilla31, I did a quick comparison of the FR up to 300 Hz, Audyssey ref curve vs ARCG vs no RC:

So far for my HT set up, Audysey, tweaked with the App and Ratbuddyssey was better, ARCG. Without any tweaks, that is, out of box post RC, Audyssey was actually better in the deep bass though audibly speaking one would not know that because ARCG would cut my below 40 Hz but kept the room gain above that so I dare say most users who don't check the results with REW, would most likely feel ARCG sounded better, as we all know Audyssey's default curves would remove all room gains, i.e. you will end up with what people call the thin sound.

I am very used to hearing the deep bass so for me, I immediately the question, where's the bass, after my first ARCG run.

In order to see how the main towers integrate with the two subs, I plotted the graphs for LRS:

You can easily explain why the ARCG with no tweak (green) could sound more pleasing to a lot of people because of the room gain it kept. Not too many would notice the missing deep bass below about 42 Hz unless tested with the right music contents.

I will email Anthem about the reason for the deep bass cut in my set up (that may be unique to my setup only for whatever reason), and will then be patiently waiting for their response, hopefully they would offer at least some suggestions.

Did you get a contact email. I have the Tech Support person lead somewhere in my emails , but I am pretty sure that is not the right guy.

I have only contacted them via their website form, but their responses were via email. Different person each time and responses have been hit and miss. I suspect that will be the norm for a while because of the black Friday sales. The sale price is so good that I didn't feel the need to negotiate for a discount. So they must have been getting bombared with questions from so many new owners.

Can you tweak the deep bass cuts? Get it more to your liking pretty easy after the fact?
