In a recent shootout, where Sony went head-to-head against JVC, a reviewer said that he would take the cheapest, lamp-based JVC, over ANY of the Sony models which were presented.
If budget allows for a Sony, then that money is better spent on a JVC. This doesn't mean that Sony isn't good, it is. But, JVC has a much better long term history in the projector world. Especially up against Sony.
I am not sure what research you have done, or what you've listened to, but the use of Klipsch, and the subwoofer choice are certainly variables you can change at any point. Getting a full featured AV receiver from Yamaha, Denon, or Marantz is solid. They all make suitable products, but you are at or near their top of the line if you want full 7.2.4 support. In fairness, I'm a huge fan of Yamaha, but you shouldn't ignore the other two major players in Denon & Marantz.
There seems to be a lot of "I liked this in the past, therefore it must be the best." - and this is a good way to get yourself in trouble.
