Totally back to normal in Fla. Everywhere you go, NO mask, massive gatherings .
What's really wrong with Florida and why are people compelled to go there? People from my overwhelmingly blue area hate Republicans but they have been moving to Florida for the last 70 years. Your bagels and pizza s@ck. : !)

Yes, many of my friends have said this before booking their tickets.
Maybe it is just for the climate but is it worth risking their lives going there just for that? Although its not tropical, what's wrong with going to California?
Then, when they get there, the don't wear their masks either further imperiling themselves? Incongruous, no?

  • Unique flora and fauna unseen anywhere else in the US
  • Until recently, a reasonable cost of living

I don't eat bagels and our PIzza is made by people that owned Pizza Restureants in New York,. Our whole town is full of New Yorkers making pizza. But we ask, please either stay out of Fla or bring more money to spend and then leave. Oh FYI: Aug 31, 2021 — In total, for the 2019-April 2021 period, 104,960 New Yorkers left to Florida. And its amazing how many of these New Yorkers are changing over to blue.

Don't get me wrong, I was just being flippant - I've visited Florida several times. It's a great place to go for a holiday. I don't think I could take the summer heat though.

I have a cousin who moved to Florida with her husband about 25 years ago for a job. They are now US citizens and hard core MAGA/Q-heads. The rest of the family here in Canada are utterly mystified at the transformation, as none us share those views.

Regarding the heat. I've lived in Fl since 1959 and when I retired back in 2010, We moved to Lexington SC, since the wife still had a house on Lake Murry. . That was the hottest place I have ever lived, until we moved back to Fla right off the coast in 2014 south of St Augustine In Fla its not the heat but the darn Humidity that sucks the energy out of ya.

Not at all. I can be rather flippant too...
Must be water down there. That's why the bagels don't rate...

All great reasons. Out of many wonderful places, my favorite part are the keys, or Key West. Something about it being the Sodum and Gomorrah Florida appeals..."that frozen concoction that helps me hang on"

I've lived on the east of Tampa and now north of it for 40 years and it has never hit 100 degrees during the summer as once it gets around 95-96 it winds up raining and cools off. Not the case in SC or Georgia, it just gets hotter specifically inland away from the coast.

That's like saying the guy making your last meal (death row) USED to work at McDonald's.

It's still never gonna be a Happy Meal.

Buon appetito

So true, we have that coastal breeze each day, but the center of GA and SC , famously hot as they say.
