Another low for our good friend Tucker Carlson

This is what I said on a YT segment.....

Sadly the trend is the anti-CNN crowd have taken up a large chunk of these airwaves. They don't provide any details as to why these segments by CNN are misleading. They just parrot those talking points. Because Faux's platform is built on the Big Lie (ie rarely investigative journalism of any kind), the left have a readily available supply of their lies to use against them with -- *gasp* -- journalism (ie live examples/evidence). Yet they parrot the "CNN does it too!" without any detailed examples of CNN doing it too. So it becomes like a circular funnel of stupidity on Faux Noise/Newscrap etc. because they rarely if ever provide yanno journalism on policy etc. There's also the concern that early on for Faux covid was "a hoax." Then they changed their tune with Hannity saying, "We always said it was real." There's O'Reilly on Hannity saying "The elderly were on their way out anyway." And Tucker's recent push for the anti-vax base. In other words, do they 'really' believe in pro-life??? No, only when it benefits them, including the voters. Because during the Trump era, they just don't give a poop. The ends justify the means. Sadly.

The reason the left doesn't talk about policy is because their ideas don't work.

If the Republicans have the better policy than it's even a bigger indictment on Faux etc for not discussing policy. For not articulating those differences. (They'll blame the left anyways.)

Conservative radio created the terms snowflakes and fake news to chastise the left. Yet ironically with the election steal and Faux News they've ended up being the biggest snowflakes and fake newsists. Hypocrisy 101.

Indeed, there's a lot to unpack here. Given time it would be fun to go line by line but this segment stands out.
Again, don't watch FOX so will respond best I can from memory.

The concern early on about Covid. I remember Trump being called a racist for blocking flights from China late January 20, quite early in the crisis. Fairly sure CNN was part of that. I remember our mayor of NY marching down the streets of Chinatown, in a crowd, maskless, and screaming to the hilltops about how we are over reacting to the virus, we should continue to go to nightclubs, the theater, et al. This was in the month after the travel ban and the science was out there.

Elderly on their way out? Let's play, which is worse. It's one thing to callously say what O'Reilly did in this interview. Its another thing to have the host of CNN prime time show, Chris Cuomo, who's Brother, then governor of NY, enact a policy to put Covid infected patients into NY nursing homes and possibly kill over 10,000 of them. Not unlike the governors of Calif, Michigan, some others. He did this of course while fondling and making passes at all the young women he could. Don't remember Chris discussing this with his brother when he had him on repeatedly on his prime time show at the height of the crisis. Of course both are now out of jobs because of various disgraceful behaviour. Don't remember the brothers discussing these things on their too cute for school segments. Which is worse? Worse by a magnitudes.

It's certainly fun pointing out FOX's sins but the evidence that all the Corporate Media(owned by the 1%) do the same is out there if you look and are not a partisan. It's meant to divide us.

Seems like what your saying again is even though Faux pushed the hoax, and even though Tucker is pushing the antivax narrative today, to millions of viewers regularly,, well the Cuomos are worse and we can wipe our hands clean. We're the party of God and the Democrats are godless. Yet an aspect of the antivax movement is religious and were going to air the nonsense and not take any responsibility for it. Because we will turn to legal causality as our excuse. Common sense doesn't suggest that though.

What I longwindedly said was it's all meant to divide us. On the Cuomo's, I was giving you an example of why one should be a skeptic of all Corporate Media.
My advice would be to change the channel. People have to make up there own minds and live with their choices, good or bad. If we start locking people up for that, well that's a different conversation...
On a more humorous note, Bill Maher had an interesting piece on current landscape. Alot of common sense. Of course, if you don't like the content, change the channel.

They didn't invent fake news, it's been around for a long time. In recent times they more took Jon Stewart's comedy lead and took it seriously and started using the phrase....

I don't care for FOX since Chris Wallace left. That said they did call the election for Biden before CNN did. That has to chap the butts of Trump and his FOX mouthpieces.

More Stupid? Conservatives are just using the tactics the left has been using against them for years. It's classic Alinsky.

Rule 4. Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.
Rule 5. Ridicule is man's most potent weapon.

Conservatives never did humor well in the past except for Reagan's "Happy Warrior" persona. I guess that's a function of Hollywood and the entertainment industry in general being "fake" lefty.
They are just beginning to catchup to Lefty tactics....

As for making it more stupid, again you are only focusing on conservatives and ignoring all the material to make fun of on the Left. There's stupid all around. We can laugh at everybody.

Didn't you get anything out of watching the clip by Maher? He also illustrated policies that are stupid and why.
Who knows, he will probably end up on Fox someday because he broke the wall. The Left cannot laugh at itself.

Ha, I remember reading that there was a lot of internal dissent at Fox after that!
I wonder how Wallace will do at CNN+? From a business point of view, I don't see enough people paying for a network that doesn't attract enough viewers for free? Unless I am wrong.

I think it's more conservatives have little sense of humor in the first place....seems to hold for nearly all I know. :) There's plenty to make fun of, and it does get made fun of, but if you're way over on the right you just aren't likely exposing yourself to best of comedy either.

Totally agree. Conservatives are outgunned in the comedy department. :)
I have both conservative and lefty friends who watch Gutfield at night and both sides find it funny. Apparently it does rather well in the ratings too beating all competition except for Colbert? If true, by industry standards, that's fairly good for a cable show to beat old network shows. Maybe there's hope for them!

I'm focusing on one of the thing's that matters most: their covid record. For the sake of opposing the Democrats, in the process they've had to kill off some of their own with their propaganda. It's against Sleepy though so no big deal. They should have enough leftover votes.

Agreed. I did like Chris Wallace enough to possibly seek out his new show. He's a big enough name that I would think he might end up on CNN.

Don't know what FOX's Covid record is firsthand. I would have to look at hard transcripts of the segments you are referring to. Hearing others interpretation of it is not enough and I certainly do not respect CNN's views on anything.
You have given a cynical mind (to Media) something to reflect on. Fox being a counter op to kill off Repubs? Why not, Murdoch's sons are certainly more lefty than he is so in the long term it would not be surprising if Fox ultimately ends up in that camp.
Projecting further, if that happens, they will leave a large conservative demographic open to go elsewhere for their news. If the free market still works, it will be interesting to see who fills that gap.
