"You packed extra high-capacity magazines for your assault rifle? Your such a good son!"

There is sooooooooooooo much wrong with this whole situation.
I was more surprised that things didn't go more off the rails.

Somehow I have the image now of Paul Hogan/Crocodile Dundee standing there saying, "That's not a trainwreck... This is a Trainwreck."
:p

Not here to actually talk about Kyle Rittenhouse. I've watched the King proceedings, OJ, Chauvin, now Rittenhouse. What I've noticed this time around is very 'creatively edited and worded' reporting by the name sake agencies like CNN, NYT, WaPo, MSN, NPR etc where they've reported on a witness testimony and just leave out the bombshell stuff and it's all seemingly slanted toward a guilty before proven innocent angle.

Also of interest is that when I've looked at the YT numbers I don't seem to be alone in this thought.

It's a bit disturbing to be honest.

Great thread great conversation. In keeping with your topic on how media reacts to specific events and how it is a problem the Youngkin media reaction to his victory is a perfect example of what your talking about and why it should be a concern

The lady in this interview covers this and even more issues with our current media that create the problems your bringing up

She does a great job in my opinion I'm going to order her book for sure

I haven't been following this in the "media" and have no idea what the problem is in the reporting....I just hope this little fucker gets put away for life, and his mom should be prosecuted as well. Guess I'll have to go delve into the shitshow that is following a trial like this....

If you haven't been following the 'media' on this can I ask what you have formulated your stance upon?

I'm of the opinion that it's nuts to have allowed your CHILD to strap on a rifle and go to a protest. That's some grade A parenting right there. Hardly a life sentence offense.

I've been unable to find anything that pierces the umbrella of true self defense and honestly the prosecutions own witnesses made the case for this without, imo, the need for Rittenhouse to take the stand.

What I can't believe is the Kyles MOTHER dropped him off. Some awesome parenting going on there.
No matter the verdict this can't be more true...

I didn't see anything other than self-defense in the videos, but I'm sure a lesser charge of a minor controlling a weapon is valid. His mother is dumb, and attending a party after someone posted bail is probably not a good look.

Just what I recall from the original events. Haven't gone looking for the "news" yet, am having a nice mellow day and don't want to screw it up yet :). Mom should definitely be punished from what I recall. Don't remember her driving him to the event particularly, just being a general enabler and nut job. Send 'em both away for a long time somewhere....

Agreed. I don't know if that is something that can preclude him from owning a a firearm. I hope he won't be able to.

Thanks John I must have missed that.
Your welcome David! Please note that I am not agreeing with anything that transpired, but am echoing @jinjuku 's op in that there is a hell of a lot bias and purposeful disinformation regarding what actually happened.

So the answer is no, you don't have anything other than a feeling? I would respectfully ask anyone that is taking a position in my thread that they provide support for their position. I don't think it's an unreasonable ask.

Disinformation seems to be the new reality.

A minor taking a firearm to a BLM event/riot.
I'm unsure of all the underage and gunrights laws. I remember being 14 and long gun and shot gun hunting with my Dad. Also bow hunting (which sucked).

I believe it's still legal today.

But that's hunting with an adult. Rittenhouse was kinda taking law into his own hands by bringing a rifle. Possession of weapon charge.

Me too. I just revamped my HT from my trusty Denon 3808ci to a new to me Integra DHC 80.3 Pre-Pro and a custom built entertainment center that seemingly took me forever to get my keister in gear and finish it up.
