This apparently is Technics new offering, Class D I presume ? .........

Yes, it is class D, but, they made it kinda "acoustically transparent" it's like an amp isn't even there in the chain. It is a smart move from their engineering because of the collective audiophile hatred for Class D. I have that bookshelf speaker and streamer they released with the amp. Have been on the fence about that amp for a long time however (I'm a class A topology snob :D ).

There are cheaper models. I also like them a lot, but I really think they're expensive. The model you show has something I expect to be somewhat controversial - a DSP for Phono (even equiped with some auto-adjust). I guess a significant portion of purists will be rulled out by the fact their beloved analogue goes transgender and retransition (to provoke John Parks :D :D God, I'm so topical)

If I didn't care about money, I wouldn't mind at all (and I would love a DSP for TT)
I have no idea what you are talking about...

I had these- I sold them too soon and they're going for a lot more money, now.

Classics for sure, while I haven't heard or played around with the new Yammie talked about here it would I'm sure be a superb 'Asian' performer. My domestic choice though.............

Maybe. They certainly didn't go out to look for knowledgeable sales people to staff the store closest to me, though.
What's knowledge got to do with it? :) Even when they had commissions would that matter?

When I worked for a stereo store, we did inventory annually (and that really sucked). The owner had two nephews working there and one time, while Sgt Hulka was checking our count and cost info (this was pre-computer), he started seeing mistakes. Lots of them and they were all on the sheets filled out by one of the nephews. He looked up and asked "Larry, where did you get these prices?" and, true to form, Larry smiled and said "I made them up".
