FWIW, I've actually heard more generally positive information about the Bass-X gear. At the time I was shopping I was considering their XPA stuff, including the DR-3 for my Front 3...
Their Tech folk couldn't/wouldn't answer some basic questions about performance of the Stereo Modules they use. (The "mono-blade" modules have quite a bit of information available on their site.) I talked to them on three different occasions and never felt like they were interested in educating me about their product, much less wanted my business. Add to that the history with unfulfilled promises in their Pre-Pro line-up...
This is why I am not an EMO customer.
All of this happened without my knowledge of the situation Gene had with Emo.
Conversely, my experience with Outlaw has been superb. My collection of 5 2200s and 2 X-13s continue to perform well. When I reached out to them for information, they were very friendly and helpful in answering my questions.
Clearly, it seems we have had different experiences. There's nothing wrong with that, but in a tight market, it's the little things that matter.
