Port noise

Any of you guys that own vtf3 mk5’s experience any port noise? Only ask because I just had my test tone on for sub yesterday turning the volume down a hair and I heard a little out of 4in port, 3in is plugged. It was not loud what so ever, had to get my ear right near the port. But it was weird, it sounded more like a rattle and I stuck my hand in there just touching around and it would go away. I just got both of them last October and lately I haven’t been down there, haven’t heard it until yesterday. Any thoughts?

Maybe the port itself has come loose? I’ve seen that happen, but not often.

Turbulence doesn't sound like rattling, so maybe something is loose, as William said. Do both of them do this? I think the ports are propped up by an internal brace. If the glue came lose that adheres the port to the brace, its possible that the port might be vibrating against the brace. If you remove the driver or amp, you can inspect if that is the case. Be sure to call Hsu before removing the driver or amp to get their OK so that you don't void the warranty.

Ok, no just sub on the right side is. Like I said I heard it during test tone but then I put my hand in there touching around n it went away. I heard during chapter 11 on age of extinction when prime n bee jump over bridge but nowhere else in movie and heard nothing on fury road. It’s very quiet but when I put hand in there touching it went away

Sounds like you should open it up with some hot glue at the ready! But good point about getting Hsu's blessing just in case....
