Ya I am probably going to snag the cheaper Outlaw 5000 so I can buy other stuff sooner. Building up 3 systems so it’s getting expensive. HT room movie focused 5.1, bedroom music focused 2.1, and budget living room 5.1.
Sounds similar to my situation.
Living room 5.1.2 system (almost there) for "general purpose" music and movies. Office 2.1 system for music. Guest bedroom 5.1 system also for general purpose movies and music, my budget system.
The last one is the most recent and just about done, just rehabilitating an old sub with a new driver and amp for a shade under $300. Total system expense will top out at $750. Living room system almost done, just need the AM230 module in my NAD T758 receiver to have the Atmos-enabled speakers (KEF R50) connected. I don't even want to do the exact numbers on what I have into that system, it's now approaching $7k. Office system complete, but easily the sweetest-sounding one of the 3 but for speakers, amp/streamer and sub it was $2150.
And none of this is ever considered permanent. There will always be components that fail, become obsolete, or just need upgrading. Like my machinist trade/hobby or my motorcycle passion, the equipment list is endless...and expensive.
