Was there an update on the dish box?
Different tv channels can have different signals so some are most likly just 2 ch, have you checked the same program/channel?

Yamaha just released a new update, it’s 2.58, can you go into “System” on your OSD with your unit connected to Internet. When you pull up on “information” just toggle to “information” than toggle to System “Firmware Version” just a thought. On Yamaha units when you do a update it takes about 20 or so minutes it will erase the old information but you won’t lose your settings.
I just updated my unit last week if you have a update a “!” Will show up next to the OSD menu.

Mike
Mine has 2.58 already, I just checked, thanks.

Don’t have a DVD hooked up only Yahama and tv.
Since that’s your only source, what about Switching out HDMI cables making sure they plugged in all the way? Seems like it may be your Box had that happen once to me with a COX cable box a few years back. Maybe give them a call about switching the box out?

My Yamaha is still under warranty but I don’t know if it’s Dish or Yamaha’s problem.

New HDMI arrives tomorrow.

I’ve got TiVo with Comcast, no Dish Hopper, so not that familiar.

Did you try Yamaha support yet?

I know HDMI is the goal but optical or coax digital could carry DD 5.1 temporarily if the hopper supports one of those for audio, assuming you can at least get video to work from the hdmi.

Any luck on the SVS sub LFE input that needed repairs?

On the HOPPER or the Yami? On the Hopper it’s DD on and the current output it’s DD not on ( should be both on or off).
The Dish box...not sure what you mean by "the current output it's DD not on"....what are the other options along with this one (haven't looked up your box manual yet)

Off is the ONLY other option.

SVS sent replacement amp, I installed it and it worked. It was theft and not cable. I have not called Yamaha yet.

WELL, after MANY MANY tries and lots of help from forum members (my thanks for the help) it came down to 1 setting on the Yamaha. Found it by trying one thing at a time. It came down to the info button on the remote to change the decoder back to DD from decoder off!

I’m sorry to have put forum members thru this but sure appreciate all the help.
