Need some suggestion on power amplifiers

Thank you guys. I am going to check my Blu-ray player today. It is a Sony 4K UHD bluray player

Audio DRC would refer to dynamic range compression. I don't think the guys in that thread have a handle on much of anything....

Please see the attached screenshot of the manual of ubpx800. Look at the second column. It has a bulb sign, that reads:to enjoy bitstream signal set audio mix setting off and digital audio output to on. Will this help?

Yep follow those directions, altho it says set digital audio output to auto.

My misery is not going to end soon. I put digital output to auto and bd output audio mix to off and now I get (Dolby digital+Dolby sorround). No atmos yet.
I set up my height speakers as front and rear ceiling speaker. Do I need to do something different?

Sounds like dsu.
Did you select the “Atmos” track in the disk menu? Some disks will not default to the atmos tracks.

If you have done everything right on the Sony UBP side and selected the right track on the Blu-ray disk as William suggested, then you may want to double check your setting on the AVR side. This video may help.

Yes. Played game of thrones with audio mode selected from Blu-ray menu as Dolby Atmos
