As a long-time fan of Track & Field, I was happy to hear about the recent ban of the Russian team from Track & Field competition at in the Olympics.

Of course, the Russians claim they don't deserve this. They are too modest. I look at it as a "Lifetime Achievement Award" – they were overdue for it :D.
I've never been able to understand people that don't cheat.
It's like we're not even the same sub species.

May be just as well. They wouldn't know which bathroom to use anyway.

Made a visit out here today. Among the museum's treasures are the space shuttle Discovery and the Enola Gay. Between that and neat stuff like a SR-71 Blackbird, Concorde jet, X-35B, and much much more, I had a pretty cool Fathers Day.

I sometimes think it would be good to have 2 different divisions of Olympics. The No-Drugs-No-Cheating competition, and the Open competition where anything goes.

OK, make that 3 divisions. We already have the Para-Olympics.

You're thinking of the Press sisters (or was it brothers?), Tamara and Irina Press.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamara_Press

I think they predated the PED era. They apparently had enough X and Y chromosomes to go into any bathroom . Their testosterone levels may have been been unusually high for females, but what they had was not drug-induced, it was all natural :D.

That is a fun place. I haven't been there in years. A nice Fathers Day indeed.

Where is that?
NXP. It was part of Motorola, got spun off several years ago and then bought by NXP last year. Pretty much a side effect of the merger. He's a programmer so he should be fine, but it's still pretty crazy.

Good lord...

I have been in that situation 3 times the past 10 years. Heck, the last company I was at closed shop and I didn't even miss a beat, I started the next day at a competitor at a much higher rate. Who says us old guys are not wanted anymore?

Sorry to hear that. It's always a shot to the shorts to get news like that.

If it came after a spin-off and buyout he might have been aware for sometime that trouble was brewing. I've been there myself in the past.

Ask him if he isn't relieved that he doesn't have to go back to that mad house anymore.

Yeah I'm pretty certain he was probably underpaid and with the severance plus whatever new job I expect him to land. It will be a nice bump for him I'm sure.

....and at first I thought the basket was stupid.....

Today I go back in to see if I can lose the boot, I am very sick of it and I will likely burn it when it's off.

Wish me luck, he said that the options will be to keep the boot on, a small brace or straight to a shoe. I hope a "shoe" mean a shoe and not some kind of smaller boot.

I really want him to say a brace and start some PT as my calf is so stiff and has no range of motion right now not to mention the fact that it is exactly 2" smaller than before the boot went on.

You'll be fine in no time. I saw a couple of those bike things at the knee place I went to. Did yours have the special race bearings? :D
