Pioneer will distribute Dirac’s suite of audio optimization technologies to Japanese manufacturers of sound systems and additionally, will leverage the solutions within their consumer, commercial and OEM audio applications.

Read: Pioneer DIRAC Partnership Announced

We can't help but ponder Pioneer will expand Dirac licensing into their AV receivers and if this means the end for Pioneer's own MCACC Room EQ. What do you think?

That's very wise of Pioneer IMO, unlike Onkyo.

Either partner up with Dirac or Audyssey or somebody established.

Audyssey has been stagnant for a while. Audyssey Pro allows more control but it is expensive. Dirac Full for the XMC-1 provides this functionality for an additional $100.

I have not seen evidence that there is active R&D for Audyssey. This looks like a good move for Pioneer but wasn't there some talk about them selling their HT division?

Can't improve on perfection.

Is Dirac coming out with something new? Do they need to iron out some issues with more R&D?

Not that I like to use any room EQ.

Interesting press release and statements about other Japanese OEMs. Given that Pioneer Home AV has moved to Onkyo, I suspect we'll see similar press releases for Onkyo/Integra soon. I guess that leaves Denon/Marantz with Audyssey, Anthem with ARC, DIRAC and miniDSP?
