What reciever should I get? 3ohm sony speaker system

Hey all, I recently acquired some speakers and subwoofer soundbar system by sony, here are the model numbers.
Subwoofer: SS-WSB102
Front speakers and back speakers: SS-TSB101
Center (sound bar): SS-CTB101

All of the above, 6 in total, are all rated at 3ohms impedance. I've been looking around online for a while but I am very confused as to what sort of receiver I should get for this.

My goal is to setup these speakers for gaming/netflix through my PS4. I know that games and netflix are not in full surround sound but I would like to utilize these speakers the most effectively I can for this purpose.

I greatly appreciate any and all responses as I am pretty stumped, I do know that there are receivers with HDMI and optical outputs that I could probably use for this purpose but that still leaves me with the question of which one of these models would suit these speakers best?

Which has the power cord and input jacks- the sub, or the Center channel? I haven't seen any diagrams for this, yet.

The sub or the center channel does not have anything but the 2 cable clamps on the back. The SS-TSB101 has what looks like a brass connection at the bottom but it looks like something screws into it.

I believe it was. I think I found the receiver that was meant for this setup:

Sony HBD-E570

So perhaps I could go for any sony receiver of this style with atleast 1000 watts of capability then these would work?

I'm just worried that these may not be able to get audio output from my PS4 if it has to go through a blue ray receiver.

I'm starting to think there may not be much I can do with these besides use them with a unit compatible with them.

It looks to me that the sub is passively powered. Still confused.

That's about what I would suggest.

No, that sub is NOT powered. It got it's power from the "receiver" that came with the system. That's what makes it a passive sub.

You won't be able to find a stand alone receiver that will work with that sub and to try to get an amp would cost more than the entire system is worth.

Don't even think about the power. Also, don't look at total power unless you're trying to size a breaker for the outlet- 1000W receiver ratings are just to make people think it's better than something that's not rated the same way and the manufacturers should be shot for employing the turds in the marketing departments that came up with the concept of total power in place of W/channel @ whatever impedance happens to get them off at the moment, 20Hz-20KHz+/-.xdB, .xx% THD, number of channels driven and dynamic headroom.

Don't buy a combination unit if you can help it- if one section goes bad and it can't be repaired for a reasonable cost, it's toast.

Well I was gifted this and I'm trying to make use of it, so there really is no loss to me on this I was just hoping there would be a way to make it work with my PS4.

I mean realistically I got these things for free what can I do with them in a functional way? I don't think the system it was designed for will connect properly as it lacks the proper ports.

I mean if I can make these work for what I want and make it sound good that is really all I am going for here.

Hey, you can do what you want. You asked for advice and we offered it. You don't have to take it.

But, know that that system is no longer made and whatever you buy will be used. ...and come with another set of speakers.

Ball is in your court. Apparently you've got your mind made up, and it's your money.

So there's pretty much no other options but pair these with the intended setup? Other receivers can't pair with this? I'm not ignoring your advice I'm just wondering if thats really it for these speakers.

I'm just a little amazed that these cannot be used with other hardware. It just seems like there must be a way.

Well, good luck in your search. Obviously none of us know what we're talking about.

Bye, Felicia.

I don't feel that I really warranted that response, I greatly appreciate all of the information you guys have provided today and I will work towards a solution based on that advice, thank you.

If you really want to try using them, look up what receiver they came with and search eBay for one, contact Sony for the connector.

OK, so I did a little poking around the Sony website and found those speakers likely came with a complete Home-Theater-In a Box set, probably a HT-SS370 or HT-SS370HD. The receiver with either was an STR-KS370, and it appears the receiver uses a proprietary connector at the receiver end of each speaker lead (wire.) Unless you have all of those speaker wires, getting that receiver would be a waste.

He won't find one, as most blew up before the end of the first disc. I bet few made it past the warranty, which I doubt was seldom honored.
