Hi there!! I'm new to this forum, I've always came hear to get info but now I'm posting for advice. So I'm a huge movie guy!! I need to watch movies in my zone and not on some crappy TV speakers lol. I just bought a Sony 65" 4K tv and needed a sound system to go with it. Upstairs I use a Bose Lifestyle 28. I love my Bose speakers but now it's time to start getting into building a system for better sound. I just ordered a Pioneer Elite VSX-90, 2x- CM8 S2 Bowers & Wilkins towers with a Bowers & Wilkins CM Centre S2 center channel speaker. My living room is about 25x15 and has 18ft ceilings that open up to the kitchen, entryway and game room upstairs so I'm not able to run rear speakers. This is the reason why I'm just wanting to stick to a 3 speaker setup until I get a theater room. I checked out several speakers and I was blown away by the sound quality in these speakers. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't buying just the name with Bowers & Wilkins and wanted to ask you all if they are worth the money. Thanks any advice would help.

If you like the sound that is the most important thing. B&W has some nice speakers, so you will be fine if you liked them. Get matching bookshelf speakers for surrounds with a good sub and you are all set.

B&W is not a bad brand, in my opinion. I have really liked their 800 series on the occasions that I have heard them. My only advice would be to skip the B&W subwoofers. I see you are in Finland, and there I would be looking at XTC and SVS subs.

Thanks for the replies. This is my first time building my own system so kind of a noob. I probably won't be buying a sub til later but reading up they said the B&W subs were not as powerful. They had recommended the Martin & Logan 10" sub. I didn't realize how expense systems can get lol.

@herbu yes you are right, validation lol. I guess I meant advice since I haven't received them yet. Need to wait for delivery so I figured I could cancel if anything came of this.

Oops, yeah I saw the wrong ID.

Anyway, to the OP, since you don't live in Finland anymore, that is a lucky break. If you are in the continental USA, there are also other subwoofers to look at, Hsu Research, Rythmik Audio Reaction Audio, but XTC and SVS are still good options. I would stay away from the M&L subs as well as the B&W subs. Both are easily outgunned by any of the manufacturers I mentioned for the same price.

... but now I'm posting for advice. So I'm a huge movie guy!! I...
You should buy one of those recommended by shadyj. 10"subs just cannot deliver, especially with all that open space you have.At least 1 sub plan on 2 though.

Congrats on the new system. Enjoy it!. When it comes time for a sub just get an SVS and you'll be happy.

Also I'm in Houston, Texas.
Fellow Texan up here in less humid, less due for a hurricane Fort Worth.

Wow! I am blown away by the sound these speakers put out! Even when the sound is raised up loud the clarity it amazing. I'm new to adjusting my own sounds and speakers and all so can anyone give advice on bi-amping and not bi-amping? I don't know much about it but it says to have a more dynamic sound it's best to bi-amp if I'm not running a 7.1 setup.

Bi-amping those speakers is a waste of time. If you do it wrong and some do, it is a good and reliable way to blow up your nice new system. Leave well alone!

That's the answer I was hoping to hear cause it sounded confusing lol. My brother came over and listened to them and said "sounds better than at the movie theaters!".
