I am wondering if anyone can help me get my new Sony BDP-BX350 to sync with my Integra DTR20.4 receiver. Unfortunately, I have this expensive fancy remote that I let myself get talked into buying when we bought our new home a few years ago and at that time, I paid the company who installed home audio to come and set up everything, including the remote. My old DVD player died and I bought a new one. Got it all hooked up and it works fine. The Sony remote that came with it works great and I was even able to program the fancy remote, which is a MX-450, to operate the Sony player, as far as basic commands go, or so I thought. However, what I CANNOT accomplish is this: before, if I pressed the MAIN button on the MX-450 and then pressed the BD/DVD button, the receiver would then switch to the DVD player and I could use the MX-450 to operate the player. Now, nothing happens at all when I press the BD/DVD button on the MX-450. It remains on the CABLE/SAT input. I have no idea what I am doing wrong but I want to believe that if it worked before it can work again. If I call the company who set it up to begin with, they will charge me $85 plus a truck fee just to do this. The MX-450 has been awesome but I have spent 2 hours already trying to accomplish this one task and though I realize I do have the option to simply use the Sony remote that came with the player, since I paid quit a bit for the MX-450, I would rather use it if I could just figure out how to switch to the DVD input. I do NOT want to spend another $100 or more to get this to work though.
Since so many folks on this forum seem so very knowledgeable, I am hoping someone might be able to suggest the fix. Hopefully I supplied enough information.
