There is no difference in sound quality between the two. One is as good as the other.

I would skip dolby atmos tbh, imo it doesn't bring so much to your movie experience. I would suggest putting your budget on better 5.1 setup over atmos.

Whether or not Atmos is worth putting into a home theater isn't a matter of Atmos itself. Rather, the way in which it is installed and calibrated, the room it's in and relative position of the listener all add up to a great Atmos experience. Or, crap.

Digital optical connection is a very limited as to what formats it can pass. It can pass stereo pcm signals of very high quality. It can also pass multichannel dolby digital and dts 5.1 or 6.1 tracks encoded in a compressed lossy Bitstream format like those used in dvd's.

Hdmi can pass all the above plus 8channel pcm in high quality and also the new lossless high res dolby and dts standards as well as atmos and dts:x.

For bluray sources hdmi is recommended but it has one big downside and that is the AV receiver in between the player and the tv needs to be new enough to support the the hdmi features being passed. Older receivers may not have hdmi switching or their switching does not support 3d, 4k or whatever and then you may have to connect your source and tv directly and use digital optical connection from source or tv to the AVR to pass sound.

The new lossless multichannel audio only hdmi will pass may have much more info but as far as quality you can actually hear the difference of is not much and you will need a very good system and room to appricate this difference. But hdmi reduces the number of cables and makes things a bit simpler plus it is the only way to get new formats like atmos.

Like already said, single connection is all you need. With bi- amping/wiring you are just asking for trouble when you dont know what you are doing and there isn't any benefits from it either.

Yes. Doing bi- amping/wiring incorrectly can damage both speakers and receiver, you dont want to risk that.

Big wiring doest hurt unless you wire it wrong and short your amp. But it is about the same as just running two sets of wires. It does mean with the same thickness of wire you get less resistance because there are twice as many wires. Best to just keep it simple and get one run of good cheap 12 guage wire and be done with it.

Bi amping has some potential benifits if done right but in reality it just adds complexity with little or no gain in most situations. Also can damage your amp or speakers if wired wrong!

No need to touch the jumpers.
Ideally, use banana plugs. You will need to take out the center pegs on any one set of red and black lugs.

Yes, just use single wire on either top or bottom of connections. Bare wire is just as good as banana plugs, banana plugs are easier if you need to move cables often. I myself prefer bare wire as there is less connections using them.

You should run the Audyssey auto calibration with mic that came with your receiver. It will do the calibrarion for you. If you have sub, set all your speakers as small, if you dont have sub set towers as large and other speakers as small.
