Really Boring Stuff Only III: Resurrection

I took a shower this morning but my wife had removed the soap. I didn't want to exit the shower and wasn't about to use her body washes. Instead I just used shampoo to wash myself. Seeing that it was a volumizing shampoo, should I be worried my ass will get bigger?

That's not a surprise given who gets to moderate these days. ;)

How's life guys?

Entertaining. Important formula for the future: Spray cheese + 1 year old = cheese mustache. Bet they don't teach you stuff like that in your fancy university :p
They do when you suddenly realize your GFs birth control wasn't quite working as well as you thought.

I think I'll just leave this here:

There is a lot of synergy between us [Hugo] back since our college days. I'm really excited that things have aligned in such a way that we can be working together again...

Talk to you later guys. Got furry things to do for a bit. :p

Fuzz, what speakers do you own these days?
Same old, same old in terms of speakers.

Phil 3's
ST Trilines
EMP E41B
SVS Ultra Bookshelf
JB Mandolin
The big center and the small center
and some surround speakers.

Same subs.

Upgrades lately have been 2 64" plasmas, both purchased last year, a JVC PJ (also last year), and a 135" AT screen. Car transmission blew up so I had to purchase a new car, which has thrown plans to add two 21" subs out of the window. May still be able to swing one if the CAD USD exchange rate stays favorable.

That is all.

The right main channel on the receiver went completely silent. Intermittent drop outs started a month ago, so I knew this was inevitable. It's in for repair (local Pitt electronics repair shop) and it'll be 2-3 weeks for them to get started on it.

Some time back I knocked over my speaker. Sounded and looked okay, so I carried on. Much later, when packing for a move, I discovered the tweeter has a hole in it. I was in email communication with Dave@Ascend before the move. The speakers still sound fine, but, I might as well send them in for repair too.

Was that Dave's recommendation? Just curious. Usually, I would expect the manufacturer to simply send a tweeter because it is a matter of 3-6 screws and 2 spade lugs (which are not the same size, so you can't connect them wrong). Mainly wondering if there is something unique about how the tweeter is installed.

Sorry to hear your system is down! What is your back-up? Are you going to be slumming it? Clock radio? Ear buds? BT speaker?

Thanks!

I've just realized how excruciatingly boring things are when there's no background music/noise. Didn't know that my taste has changed from preferring silence during intense concentration activities and falling asleep phase.

Dave said I need to send in just the tweeter and he'd inspect it. I'm glad the whole speaker doesn't need to go back, so, I save on shipping. On the other hand, I on curious of the electrical tolerances on the tweeter and crossover; if a different tweeter can just be dropped in without appreciable change in sonic characteristics of the complete speaker.

Currently, I moved only the PS3 to go direct to TV since moving anything else will be a major PITA. At least this gives me some movies and music through the TV speakers. YouTube through phone and laptop (with headphones if needed).

How much is a tweeter? Would getting two make sense? Then you'd have two from an identical manufacture date and production run. Just spendin' your money. :)

What is he inspecting it for? Can't you send him some close-ups of it?
I don't like down time! Ask him if he can send you a new tweeter, or think about if there is a time you are going to be out of town for a few days.
Is he considering fixing yours instead of a replacement?
You'll be buying a tweeter either way, won't you?
Not really that big of a deal, but since it still sounds okay, why not keep it until the new one arrives?

The rec'r is down for a month so it's down time anyway ... unless he gets 2 day shipping on a new rec'r. That's what I would do if I had his money.

I need the snow to either not come or not start until after noon. I'm probably one of the few teachers dreading a possible snow day.
