I realize this is an old thread, but I too am in the market to replace my two subwoofers. I've owned many subs over the past two decades, including various brands, models etc... I use to have an SVS PB12-Plus2. When Tom Vodhanel left SVSound I decided to sell my PB12-Plus2 and bought a Power Sound Audio XV-30 (basically the same design as the former), then a few months later Tom let me trade up to dual XV-30Fse's so I could have two dual driver subs while using the same floor space. Now I'm looking to change brands and get two smaller sealed subs without losing too much spl. I've been comparing the SVS PB-16Ultra and the GoldenEar SuperSub XXL due to their smaller footprint which will enable me to explore different locations within my somewhat limited sized theater (1600 cubic feet). As before, the only location I had room for my two PSA XV30FSE's was at the back corner of my room, which I know isn't ideal for sub locations. I recently watched Gene DellaSala's YouTube video on the JL Audio E-112 which passed their bassaholic large room test, as Gene & Hugo said this was the first sealed medium sized sub to ever pass this test. So out of these three subs mentioned above, (PB-16Ultra, GoldenEar XXL & JL Audio E-112), can anyone recommend from hands on experience which one I should buy? Yes, at some point I'll most likely get a second sub, but for now I can only afford one until I sell my PSA subs. Any advice would be sincerely appreciated!
