Really Boring Stuff Only III: Resurrection

Yea, so that happened. It was when I was in high school. It was a home invasion gone awry and if the gun hadn't jammed after he got shot and then wrestled it away from one of the guys it would have gone at least a little differently. In any case, he's no longer a guy you want to sneak up on anymore. He's still a little skiddish.........and he's packing 24/7/365.

I think you can still google the newspaper articles about it. Big news in a small town.
DAMN! That's crazy. I don't even know what to say.

No way! Those things are usually not random. Either way, that's wild.

Definitely not random. Without going into all the details, as part of the break in they waited until both my Mom and I had left (her for work and me for school) and then went in and yanked all the phone lines. So after the whole shooting and some other stuff, my old man crawled all throughout the house looking for a phone that was still connected. The only reason he made it was because one of our tenants heard the gunshot and came with her cell and called 911 and bandaged him up. Lucky she was an ex-nurse.

Then again, when we got to the hospital we knew exactly where he was in the ER. It was the only curtained off area the nurses were leaving laughing. We also heard that his first words to the paramedics when they arrived were, "Hi guys, hope your day is going better than mine." Those sort of comments continued during the ambulance ride as well.

Not "caught". Small town, rumors spread. Everyone more or less knew who had done it. Short version is no, never caught. Rumor was that one fled the state, and the other two gave up info and got off. Karma though. One died in a 4-wheeler accident and another in a car accident.

That's a heavy crime. I'm trying to picture 3 guys agreeing to go shoot YAA's dad. In that 'hamlet' of all places. I bet you lock your doors, don't you?

The Duece makes an appearance and Old Adam is nowhere. For Shame.

There's nothing to munch on ... except bread and butter.

They lock their doors now, but it's the guns that are the real deterrent nowadays. Prior to the robbery, my Mom didn't like having guns anywhere but locked up. That has changed since then. Hence the, "not a guy you want to sneak up on" kinda thing.

Anyways, enough depressing boring stuff :D

Actually I don't have any good boring news. My ebay return is progressing, although it still has not gone through yet. I'm not sure the guy believes what I'm telling him, or at least part of it so I sent him a short video. The item was a projector, btw. Beautiful, in like new condition PJ that UPS beat the hell out of. To be fair it wasn't packaged all that well either, but nothing I can do about that now.

Tell the seller it was his sh!t packing job that got it wrecked. That should smooth things out. :D

I've got PT in a bit and I'm going to get some almonds, eggs and quarters.

I guess there's no getting around it. I have time to move speakers and subs around ... again. What kind of person ends up with a 105 lb sub in their closet? This is stupid but before I go

Is that what you call YAA now? I realize people of Asian extraction tend to be a bit smaller than Europeans, but that's pretty small. You do have to feed him you know...

I hear a lot of flimsy packing jobs. It's too bad, so much needless damage.
Would be nice if some type of 'required packing standards' were established by ebay.
