Music to the Patio

Hey Guys,

My wife wants me to put speakers on the patio We would like to be able to play whats playing on the main system in the family room which is located near the patio.

I've looked into various ways of doing this: Bluetooth speakers, using a system for delivering wireless sound to surround speakers, and line level transmitters and a small D type amplifier. Each way has pros and cons.

What's the best/easiest way to accomplish this? Any other suggestions?

The concern I have with this system, and the blue tooth systems I've looked at in general, is I read a lot of complaints about latency issues. This and my home system are close enough this would be a problem.

Has anyone here used a system like this?

If you have a tablet with bluetooth you can play music from pandora or amazon music and stream it to the speakers. That's what I do.

Thanks! However, one of my parameters is to have the same music playing, and in sync, when you walk in the house or onto the patio. I don't have first hand experience dealing with streaming bluetooth to multiple players, but from all the reviews I've read, bluetooth doesn't sync well.

These seem to have solved the latency issue, but some people say the sound quality is really poor. I hope someone chimes in with experience with some of these and perhaps recommend a good decent quality system.

I'm not looking for great sound, it is just for ambiance or background when working in the yard, but I don't want bad sound either!

No one here has tried to run patio speakers wirelessly through their home system?

I think the easiest way to run audio to the patio is with a Sonos system. I have 3 Sonos connect and will get a 4th one for the patio. Just hook up the Sonos to your amp or patio system and voila. The app is easy to use. The system works very well.
