Hi. Once you learn the trick, Photobucket is really easy. Well, unless your talking about Photobucket from your phone, then you can ignore me.

On PB, you can hover your mouse over a picture, and then a menu appears. The bottom option says "IMG code". Click in the box next to that, and it should automatically copy the text for you (if not, you can copy it yourself). You then paste that directly into a post here, and it has the right syntax for an embedded image.

If you quote my post, you'll see the type of code that I'm talking about below this.

Man!!! Thanks so much!

What a nice setup!!

They do look really nice!

I wonder if I can order them to my brother's house in Boston and pick them up? Your wholesaler guy can hook me up?

I really think it's between the Rythmik, REL or Earthquakes.

Thanks very much for taking the time on this!

Thanks for the compliments i appreciate them!!
It took a while to figure out how to post the link but i got it now. I cant do it from my phone but its easy to do from my laptop.
Yeah i can get them for you at a price of $1407.25 after taxes. Thats two Earthquake MiniMe P12 subwoofers in their 7 layer piano black finish. We would have to do a PayPal transaction because i have an account through the wholesaler & i have to make the purchase. Shipping would also have to be calculated. They weigh i think about 48lbs each boxed up.
I know you havent made your decision yet but just giving you these details so you can have all your info. If your budget is closer to $200 then id ad the Earthquake shaker that you mount in your couch. Thats what i did & EVERYONE LOVES IT!! I thought it might be cheesy but turned out its really convincing! Makes your vision a bit blurry during dynamic scenes :)
That runs $150 for the transducer you mount & $275 for the 300watt amp that powers it. I keep the amp under my couch its very small. I just hooked it up to one of the outs on one of the subs & thats it. Very simple.
Anyways hope all this info helps. If you are serious on them or have more questions feel free to call me:

Thanks so much man!

That's very tempting. I would probably get them shipped to my brother's place in Boston.

There is not much info on them though.

Are they musical subwoofers? Would they be as tight as the Rythmik or REL to match my CM8s?

Hmmm.. choices choices.

To be honest i cant compare them to Rythmik because i dont have experien e with them. I have heard REL but not in a side by side comparison. I can tell you that the Earthquakes will have more dynamic headroo
& more of a visceral impact for sure. Mai ly because of their excursion capabilities & the SLAPS radiator. I would suspect them to be on par with the REL in musicality purhaps the slight edge in that department to the REL. But remember that your Yammie will be setting an EQ on both subs to help with your room & any other needs. (if even needed) i highly enjoy mine with both music&movies!! I have no complaints.
Check out the post o er in the subwoofer area. A guy just bought an old model Earthquake supernova & is blown away by it!

Thanks for that info! They are definitely on my short list!

I get the feeling that the Rythmik or REL are a little more musical though?

Rythmik is marked to the "Music" crowd.

They are truly tight bass.

But don't let the Q=0.5/Music bass fool you into thinking that they don't do movies! Look at the Audioholics review of the Rythmik sub!

I wouldnt say Rythmik or REL are more musical. Their merketing has nothing to do with how they actually sound. Case in point: Bose. IMO you get tue musicality that other subs offer plus the dynamic impact that some other subs cant! Specially at their size...a 14" cube (roughly) doing what they do is very impressive.
Pannther, dont take this sub search lightly. Do your homework, look at all the facts & listen to recommendations with a grain of salt & go from there. Im totally down to help you out if you decide to go Earthquake. But no pressure from me to take that route. I just want you to get whats gonna fit your needs/wants most.
Happy Huntin!!!!

Thanks again Timoteo.

I decided on getting 2 Funky Waves subs. They were a lot more than what you said you could get the minis for so I hope their worth it!

Thanks again for all your advice.

I have a lot more questions on how to use my RX-A2000 and speaker setup etc, but I think you've been more than helpful with me as it is.

Thanks for all the amazing advice again.

Found this little description; Yamaha Pure Direct a mode that causes the signal to bypass all but the most basic audio circuitry, and even turns off the display to prevent any chance of noise interference

Yamaha improved their power output by a non-audible amount & made the new Avantage line more compatible with i products. Improvements...yes. Nothing I would benefit from myself but still a top notch product. The A2000 IMHO would still be my choice with their price drop (street value). Specially if your running external amplification.

I noticed you have the Emotiva XPA-5 amp and your useing the Yamaha A2000 as Pre/Pro. How is this working. I almost purchased the A2000 but got a smoking deal on a RX-V1900 HDAVR ( in warranty) that has about the same specs and your A2000. And I was looking at the Emotiva 5X200 amp and do the same. I was advised to look for a Quad 909 amps but wow X 5 is expensive and hard to find a good used one. I have found a good used XPA-5 would you buy it again if you had it to over??
Thanks
Louis

Hello again. Sorry to bring this back to life, but I am really trying to get my CM8s to sound nice with my Funk Audio subs. I notice a huge difference in sound quality when using pure direct mode with the Yamaha RXA2000 but want to use the subs. When used in STRAIGHT mode, the sound quality is seriously affected. There was discussion earlier in this thread about the Yamaha Pure Direct mode VS Denon. Does anyone know how to get subs to work with Pure Direct mode with the A2000 or how I can get the sound to be just as good as pure direct mode while not using it?

Thanks in advance.

Look on your sub and see if it has speaker wire connections too. Unplug the LFE cable and hook up the sub from your speaker wires that go to your front L or R speakers. Wire the front speakers direct to sub and sub speaker wire out to speakers. It's a PIA but that is how I used my Direct mode when I had my Yamaha AVR hooked up to my fronts (Klipsch Cornwalls) I now have two separate systems(amps etc) hooked up to my fronts via a Niles Audio SPK-1 audio triggered speaker box selector and purchased a second sub for music and the other sub hooked with the LFE cable to my AVR. I use a vintage yamaha A-1000 Class A Integrated (it does not have LFE outs had to wire speaker wires to it first)for all my analog devices. My 2009 Yamaha HD AVR RX-V1900 just did not play analog at low volumes as good as the Class A, AB Yamaha Integrated amp(awesome phono section MM/MC adjustable) but I have really efficient front speakers. If you have a front speaker close to the sub install a few feet of extra wire sub use when on Direct with AVR and manual hook up and after Direct music is done use banana plugs and pull them out of sub and back to front speaker and re hook LFE cable. Or just leave it hooked up this way and do away with the LFE cable as my sub would not work with both speaker wire and LFE cable both hooked up at one time????

Thanks very much for the reply LAB3. I don't have the options to wire my sub like such. My subs solely have neutron connections. What would be the most similar sounding setting as pure direct that lets me use the subs as well then do you think?

Thanks
