Adcom GFA-555 makes a "pop" sound when changing sources - help

Yes, most of my connections from the source to the receiver are digital connections. The DVD player using a toslink cable, from the Media Center PC I am using my SoundBlaster's digital out as well. I have my pda which is streaming internet radio wireless hooked up to the front analog connectors...

Adcom GFA-555 makes a "pop" sound when changing sources - help

Doing more research on these ground loop isolators shows that they tend to reduce/eliminate the buzz or hum on signals, but I have neither problem. Other research has led me to understand that Adcom are known to have a thump sound when powering off, but in my case it happens each time the CD...

Adcom GFA-555 makes a "pop" sound when changing sources - help

Thanks for the links and suggestions. I didn't have a chance to get one yet, but I plan on going to BB or Fry's tomorrow afterwork to see if they indeed have one. I see them everywhere on ebay. I'll have to give a report on what this does for me.

Adcom GFA-555 makes a "pop" sound when changing sources - help

Hi Chris, thanks for your suggestion. I was seeing if I can ignore... at least right now cause I'm not so used to it yet. The pop sound is not very loud, but it's definitely noticeable. Not really sure what a ground loop isolator is or what it looks like or what it would entail to set up one...

Adcom GFA-555 makes a "pop" sound when changing sources - help

I just turned the volume all the way down and when I skipped the track on the DVD/CD player. No pop sound. As soon as I turn it up just a little, and change tracks, I heard it.

Adcom GFA-555 makes a "pop" sound when changing sources - help

Hi guys, I have been wanting to purchase a good external amp to power the Polk RTi12's that I have. These are hungry beasts. Anyway, I finally received my Adcom amp yesterday and I hooked it up last night. At first I wasn't able to tell the difference but I recalibrated my setup with YPAO and...

    Receiver (to match Polk Rti8, Csi5, Rti4, PSW505)

Honestly, unless you want all the bells and whistles as seen in the high end bracket, most receivers in your price range will suffice for most HT setups. I mean for $500, you can definitely get 7.1, DTS, Dolby Digital,Dolby PLII, etc 100+ WPC. Now all you need to figure out what brand you want...

    Nice cheap power Conditioner/surge protector

Ok gang, I just received my unit today and I just hooked it up tonight. All I have to say is that this unit is operating just fine. The lights are BRIGHT man!!! but I took a thin strip of duck tape over them and they tammed. Not sure how they will look during the day though, but at night time...

    Receiver (to match Polk Rti8, Csi5, Rti4, PSW505)

Keep an eye out for sales for older receivers for the year before. HK is very good in my opinion but I also really like Yamaha's and Onkyo as well. There always sales I find.

Bi Wire or Bi Amp Polk RTi 12?

I guess you must be assuming once again. when did I say I didn't like the sound of them? In fact it is the oppose, I love the sound of the RTi12's. My question was about the 3 woofers and amplification to make them work more.

Behringer A500 Amplifier: Objective Test Results

sounds mighty tempting. I was just cheking out the EP2500. It looks like a beast. But it's is also very ugly in my opinion hee hee. At least the A500 look decent enough that would fit into my rack nicely. However power is power. So I guess the question is. Get 2 A500, bridge them and get 2x 500W...

Bi Wire or Bi Amp Polk RTi 12?

Pardon me but I'm quite novice in this stuff still. In that case and in your opinion what is it going to take to make these polk woofers work? more power? what would you recommend? What amps have you used to test these speakers with?

Bi Wire or Bi Amp Polk RTi 12?

Yes the Behringer amp is rated at 8 ohms which is the same as my V2600. However my AVR is outing 130WPC. If it's true that an A500 in bridged Mono setup can output 500W, even if it is peak but 250WPC RMS, that is an improvement over my current built-in amp correct? What do I expect to set...

Bi Wire or Bi Amp Polk RTi 12?

Any one try the RTi 12's with those Behringer amps? I'm soooooo tempted on buying them. Like I said. I'm happy using the PSW10 to fill in the lower end but having such beautiful speakers, I really want to see those 3 7" woofers do something... The highs and mids are very clear and listening to...

Behringer A500 Amplifier: Objective Test Results

Thanks for the information. I really like the fact that they offer 0% payment plan. it would make buying it a lot easier. I keep checking this thread over and over. I just seems as though it is a great buy. I have a pair of RTi12 that I know my Yamaha RX-V2600 is not bringing alive...

    Recommendations for a DVDAudio/SACD player under $100

Thanks for the suggestion and the links regarding OPPO. I've never heard or seen this brand but going over some of the threads here, I do see that there are lot of people who have them. At $170, it is quite a bit out of my budget but from the specs it sure looks like a feature packed player...

    Recommendations for a DVDAudio/SACD player under $100

Hmmm... I just finished looking at the Yamaha site and wow, what makes SACD capable players so much more money? I wish I took a chance at the one that was on clearance on Fridays a few weeks back. it was only $30!!! I swear the only thing that held me back was that it did not have an HDMI...
