Buying a stylus used is like buying a car with a broken odometer. "I assure you it was only used on Sundays by a little old lady."...

A pristine unit like this deserves a pristine cover.

These days the stylus can be more expensive than the cartridge was. Still rather buy new.

I'd try a soft reset (unplug the avr from power for a bit) or a full microprocessor/factory reset if that doesn't clear up those...
