Yami V2700 & Outside Speaker setup in Zone B?

Hi,

Anyway of getting my outside speakers to output all audio (including digital input sources?)

I've got two outside speakers that most of the time I really just want to run simultaneously with my 5.1 inside system (like pressing the "Speaker B" button to ON with old amps). I "Like" the idea of separate zones but suspect most of the time I just want the same output both inside and out!

FYI - As per the book - I've currently got the outside speakers hooked up as Zone B using my unused Surround Back amp section of the Yami and as documented it only works for ANALOGUE inputs sources.

Thanks
Nathan

I don't know of any receiver that can do digital on zone 2/3. Yamaha seems to have done away with speakers A/B in the 2700. The most simple way to solve your problem is to run an analog stereo cable along with the digital. I did that with my 2700 and it works great. I have another room on zone 2 and my wireless headphones on 3.

Hi Ho,
I to am running the analogue cable as well as S/PDIF from my HTPC which is fine on PCM tracks but as I've got DD / DTS set as S/PDIF Pass Through there is no analogue output on the sound card for this.

I find it intersting that the Yami (or any receiver) can not down mix to the Zone 2 as they all can output to the Headphone jack which is a 2Ch Analogue signal....
Thanks
Nathan
