Hi all,
I am new here and don't know too much about this stuff and I would appreciate any advice anyone can offer me.
I am in a situation where I may soon have a new Z7 and also a new Z9. I have tried both these amps and have no doubt that the Z9 better provides the sound that I am looking for although I do love the features of the Z7.
I am wondering if there is anyway to connect these two amps together so I can use the HDMI, Network Radio etc. features from the Z7 but use the power from the Z9 to drive my speakers.
I was told if I take cables from the pre out of the Z7 into the multi channel inputs of the Z9 that this would be possible but I am not too sure about this.
Thanks for any advice.

A new Z9 ? This receiver/amp is the predecessor of the current flagship Z11 and is 4-5 years old. Wouldn't it be better in your case to take the Z7 and purchase a dedicated power amp like Rotel, Emotiva ... depending on your needs, ears and budget ?
The pre outs of the Z7 need to be connected to the inputs of the power amp.

Yes you could, but I would take the advice of Jeepers and use an external amp to pair with the Z7 if you think it's necessary.

Yes, what you are saying would make most sense but for various reasons I am committed to spending the money on Yamaha products. I don't have much choice really so I am looking to get the best result I can by using these 2 amps.

Mmmmm, I think that would be getting a bit out of my league.
I am pretty much stuck with the option of these two amps so I am trying to work out what the best thing to do with them together is. If it is as simple as connecting pre outs of Z7 to multi channel inputs of Z9 then I guess I'll give it a go.

Why would that be a problem? Its a much better solution than what you are trying to do. What speakers are you running?
