I'd say it's a good deal. Yamaha I think are still the best of the mass market receiver manufacturers.

Haven't dug into the specs on that avr but if it meets your connectivity and features requirements and you got it at an acceptable discount from msrp, then you're golden! Enjoy the content, don't worry so much about the electronics. Your speakers and room are where the sound quality truly lies...
