I have my Yamaha RX-V467 reciever conected to my PC through an HDMI input. In Windows 7 I am telling it to output to 5.1 speakers through NVIDIA's High Difination Audio Device. But every time PC sound is actually playing the reciever switches into 'Stright' audio, and I loose the ability to the recievers DSP modes like PRo Logic Movie, Neo 6 Cinema for example. Why is this? Is there something I can do to let me use these modes?
TIA :)

Your computer needs to be outputting in stereo two channel mode to allow Pro logic etc. to work.

You will only get 5.1 from your computer if the program is Dolby digital, Dolby True HD, or DTS and DTS mater HD. It can also probably handle 5.1 PCM.

Have your computer set to output bitstream to your receiver, and you should find the receiver will sort it all out.
