Yamaha RX-V465 Question

Hi i would like to know if the Yamaha RX-V465 would work with a 4ohm speaker load i am currently using a speaker selector with two 8ohm speakers and it does have a protection switch when turned on the speakers are not as loud i would like to know if it would be okay to leave the protection switch off any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum!

The manual states that the 465 should be used with speakers with impedances of 6 Ohms or higher. So, do it at your own risk. My belief is that the 465 will go into protection mode if you turn it up really loud and the current draw is more than it can handle.
