i have an onkyo component system; phono, tuner, eq, cassette, p-3150v preamp, m5130 amp and denon 1940 multi channel player. just got the yamaha, connected denon thru optical to the yamaha. followed instructions; 4 speakers, no sub, large room. sounds good but not enough bass. connected eq to md/cdr in out: nothing. someone said on another forum that the yamaha does'nt support outboard function? so should i connect the dvd, phono, eq, cassette, to my preamp then connect preamp to the yamaha at rca jacks cd in. i'll have 2 volume controls; 1 at preamp and 1 at the yamaha. which volume should i use? if it works at all. tia frank
