yamaha rx-v363 digital input not working

Guys,

Couldn't find any help after digging through the forum. Maybe someone has an idea.

I have had this receiver for about 2 years with no problems with it until today. I do not get an audio output when plugging in a tested good source to either digital input (CD and DTV).

My typical setup for the past 2 years is connecting the xbox to the receiver's DTV input via optical cable. It has worked fine up until today. I have done all the troubleshooting I can muster, including a reset on the Yamaha. Any analog input still results in correct audio output. The problem is in the digital inputs.

Any takers?

Thanks ahead of time.

There's always a possibility that the receiver has just developed a problem that needs a tech to inspect and repair.

However, did you perhaps inadvertently change some settings?

1. Digital input format: Usually defaults to 'auto' which detects either analog or digital signals present and gives priority to digital.

2. Input assignments: Is the DTV input still assigned to the digital input that the XBox is connected?

3. XBox settings: Is it set to 'bitstream' as its digital audio output?
