Yamaha RX-V2500 HTR-equivalent?

I love that new V2500, it looks incredible (especially for 1K!), but given the choice, I'd rather pay less for the different face and get the same insides... assuming this receiver gets an HTR brother.

Called Yamaha about this (before buying at 1400 on closeout). Told me that there were no immediate plans to replace the existing htr line. Either they are trying to differentiate the two lines or he just wasnt authorized to say anything until some official release. Judge for yourself.

Thanks. Typical response from a company trying to sell through existing merchandise... :rolleyes: Well, I can't wait too much longer, so we'll see what happens.

I wouldn't hold my breath on a HTR equiavlent to the 2500 as there was never an equivalent to the 2400. (unless I've looked at their site wrong) From a marketing standpoint, the V series is supposed to show a little higher class and exclusivity, I would think that would be accomplished through having at least one model that doesn't exist in the HTR lineup.

Look on eBay after the 2500 is released though, you can probably find a good price.
