RX500A looks like a low-end $300 DENON.

Front panel with 2 big knobs is closer in aesthetics to the previous generation of AVR (before going to single knob).

But made in VIETNAM?

All the previous Yamaha's (from the $10K Yamaha's down to the $300 Yamaha) were made in Malaysia.

Those $300 Denon`s are made in Vietnam too!

New lower tier models launched today and they are fitted with the magical fift foot! @gene maybe podcast with Phil Shea? I´m more interested what is ahead as these are so underwhelming.

Yep. Well, even the $8,000 Anthem and $8,000 ARCAM AVP's are also made in Vietnam.

NAD's $10,000 AVP is made in China.

The Denon X4800 and up are made in Japan, while X3800 and below are made in Vietnam.

But for as long as I can recall, Yamaha AVR's and amps have always been made in Malaysia, even their $10K integrated amps were made in Malaysia. So the move to Vietnam manufacturing by Yamaha is a bit concerning for me. If Yamaha is also releasing higher-end models to replace the A4, A6, and A8, I'm now thinking they will also be made in Vietnam.

New product launch, but not yet what we are waiting here. However this could be positive sign what is coming next. @gene should be making podcast with Phil Shea about the new products (RX300A/RX500A) and upcoming ones as he must know how everyone would love to hear news from Yamaha´s side especially on AV processors and all that, but Gene is not replying to any messages here or DM. I guess the biceps poser has become bit of snob so normal people will only get reply if you pay to him.

@AcuDefTechGuy anything new on your side from the so called Yamaha rep that lied to you earlier? Hopefully Yamaha launches new RX-V6A and Aventage models at the end of the year even if availability goes to 2027.

Very little is made in the USA anymore and if it is, you'll pay for it.

Honestly I really don't care too much. Just looking for best bang for my buck, which nowadays isn't much. You'd need to take out a house loan for a midrange AVR these days hahaha.
